As someone who has dined in Michelin Star restaurants around the country, Takumi- Tei was absolutely incredible and the best meal I’ve ever been served. The atmosphere especially within the water room was so immersive that the focus became the food. Each dish was excellent prepared and absolutlet scrumptious, the fish and A5 melted in my mouth like butter while the miso soup absolutely stunned the palate. The service was equally as exquisite with Riko and Kyoko attentively serving our needs while explaining the history and preparation of each dish. The full course was absolutely perfect in terms of portions and variability and we walked away completely satisfied and awe-struck. Such an incredible experience and I don’t think words can recommend how strongly I recommend this restaraunt

We dined at Takumi-Tei and the service deserves genuine praise. The cast members were fantastic, welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the entire experience.
Unfortunately, the value does not align with the cost. We spent roughly $450 for two semi course meals. While the quality of the food and the variety were genuinely good, the portion sizes and total amount of food do not justify a price anywhere near this level. Even by Disney standards, the semi course option should not exceed $200 under any circumstance.
The reservation and cancellation policy played a major role in our decision to keep the reservation. With a $100 per person cancellation fee, we assumed that canceling would cost $200 total, and that it made more sense to spend an additional $100 to actually eat the meal. In reality, once everything was complete, keeping the reservation resulted in spending roughly $250 more than if we had canceled and accepted the fee. That difference was not clear upfront and significantly impacts how this experience feels in hindsight.
The number of upcharges offered throughout the meal further reinforces the sense that the base experience is intentionally limited. While the food quality itself was good, the quantity and structure of the meal do not support the final bill.
This is not about being unwilling to spend money. It is purely about value. For the amount of food provided, even at high quality, this experience is not worth the price. I truly wish this review could be more positive because the service was excellent, but I cannot recommend this restaurant unless prices are dramatically reduced.

No mercy. We showed up with a reservation. We didn’t even need a reservation as the place was about 3/4 empty. We sat down and proceeded to look over the menu. As the place has a policy related to younger kids being allowed we thought there would be some sort of kids menu…I mean it is Disney after all. Since there was no kids menu and my 5 year old was already complaining about hungry and nothing on the menu for them. We told the waiter that since there was nothing for the kids we needed to leave. They then proceeded to charge us $100/person for canceling our reservation. In addition to this my step mother had nothing available on the menu for her. That was 4/7 people that had nothing to eat. I called Disney dining and billing and they said there is nothing they can do as it is a 3rd party establishment. This was the first day of our vacation and it has officially been ruined!

Me and my boyfriend went to Takumi Tei for his birthday and it was such a treat for both of us! Our server, Sakura was so sweet and so knowledgeable. She was always smiling and made us feel so welcome! We left with full bellies and hearts! Highly recommend Takumi Tei for any special occasion.

PLEASE do not eat here - this may be the worst meal I’ve ever had. Out of respect for the staff, we tried our best to enjoy the food and find positives in the experience, but I was gagging at times, finding it difficult to swallow the food. We are adventurous eaters, will happily pay for an expensive meal, and adore Japanese cuisine, but this was difficult to stomach - literally. We learned that it is a third party company, not owned or managed by Disney, which explains the shocking experience…
