Food was nice, a few different options to the usual Disney quick service restaurants. Ordering was a bit slow and the kitchen got one part of the order wrong, this was resolved quickly though.

Got one of our favorites - the pulled pork nachos today. But they chameleon them. Still had the delicious pineapple, cheese & pulled pork but they made made a change on the chips. Half are the delicious wonton chips but they are mixed with potato chips. Just NO! The potato chips get soggy & are waaaaay too salty. Disney, if you're listening, dump the potato chips & go back to all wonton chips!

When you stay at the Polynesian Resort, Capt. Cook's is the place to go when you need to get some food on the go. All you have to do is grab what you want and pay.

Capt. Cook's is the Polynesian Resort's quick service snack bar. It's located by the main areas, so it's very convenient. As with most things Disney dining, it's overpriced and mediocre. And let's be honest: the only reason I ever go here is to hang out while I'm waiting for my seat at Trader Sam's to be ready! There's a large indoor seating area with picture windows that look out onto the Polynesian property. Lush trees give a tropical vibe, and the outdoor dining patio is also nice when it's not raining or super hot and humid. This is a strictly "grab-and-go" spot with a unique menu that also has family-friendly favorites (chicken noodle soup, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and burgers). If you're looking for something a little more "elevated" (and I use that term loosely here), they have pizza style flatbreads, rice and noodle bowls, and unusual items like coconut meatballs and pork sandwiches. The place is very friendly and welcoming, and I recommend you use the Disney app for mobile ordering. Capt. Cook's is a great mobile order spot: it's fast, accurate, and there's no long wait in line when you're tired and hungry. If you haven't been to WDW in a while, I have some disappointing news for you: you can no longer get Dole Whip at Capt. Cook's. I know, I know. I remember the days of the SELF SERVICE Dole Whip machine here. Disney's just messed everything up! Even more annoying is that when you purchase a soda here, they give you ONE refill. How do they monitor that? Well, the soda cups have chips built in the bottom. Yes, on the PAPER SODA CUPS!!! Come on, Disney, you're charging me close to $6 for a tiny little drink cup and I can't refill it more than ONCE? This is the main reason for my low star rating of Capt. Cook's! I will say again that every single time I have been here, the service is fast and friendly. Cast Members here seem to keep things running smoothly even when the place is packed, making Capt. Cook's one of the most painless places to grab a quick snack.

Got the Shrimp and Noodle Pan-Asian Stir Fry with Vegetables. Came to $15.22 with taxes, and was an excellent, filling meal. Highly pleased with it.
