Reservation was for 7:20 and we were not seated until 8:00. I had to go ask twice the status of our table. The rolls were not warm and both pasta meals were cold. Very disappointing considering the price of the meals.

Food was salty and thats about all you tasted.. As far as Disney restaurants go this would have to rank at or near the bottom for me.

We visited Ale and Compass a few years ago and really liked it. That is why this visit was so disappointing. Of the 5 breakfasts only 2 were eaten. The crabcakes benedict were Terrible. The crabcake was technically not a cake. It was similar to a tuna salad on the bread; cold and sour tasting (not fried.) the eggs were poached hard boiled, not soft, and the one plate had water on it. The quiche was cold and loaded with so many mushrooms that there was almost no egg and cheese. It came with cold baked beans. The chocolate waffles were good as was the french toast. Such a nice place with such a wasetful food preparation.

After my last visit to Orlando for work, I was determined to eat only on Disney property this time around too. After some research, I decided to have my first meal at Ale & Compass, located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Ale & Compass offers New England comfort food and classic seafood dishes in a coastal-inspired restaurant. As someone who lives on the East Coast, the vibes were definitely there. It was giving New England core.
To start, I had the Parker House Rolls and Spreads that comes with Bacon Jam, Pub Cheese, and Citrus Butter. These rolls were so good. It was a lot for just one person, but they were great about bringing me a box and cups to take everything with me. I think my favorite was the pub cheese, followed by the bacon jam. The citrus butter was the least appealing in my opinion, but that's just personal preference.
I also had the Wedge Salad with Garlic-Peppercorn Cream, Bacon Lardons, Tomatoes, and Blue Cheese. This salad was quite good and a very large portion. The garlic-peppercorn cream was such a unique flavor for a salad dressing and paired really well with the funky blue cheese crumbles.
For my main, I had the New England Seafood Pot Pie with Shrimp, Scallops, Jumbo Lump Crab, Catch of the Day, Baby Vegetables, Brandy-Cream Sauce, and House-baked Crust. I think the way they prepare this pot pie is different than I thought it would be. There's a bottom crust and the pot pie filling is poured on top of the crust. There's no top crust. The filling was decent, but I didn't really get pot pie vibes.
I opted out of dessert, as nothing really looked good to me. Service was fine, but I think my solo table was not their priority
