Had a less than ideal experience this last time at Cape May for breakfast. We sat down for our 10:25 Breakfast reservation On time, which was great considering how busy the restaurant was. We got a table that backed up to the buffet line. About halfway through breakfast, my mom gets MAPLE SYRUP dumped down the back of her and her hair from someone that was going too quickly through the line. The server heard what was going on & commented “You should buy a lotto ticket”. I think the server caught on that we did not find this amusing and said let me go get my manager. The manager comes over, Taylor, and apologizes for the situation. She offers wipes, which we already had because we had our 8 month old. Then she offers a Mickey t shirt…..she kind of said it as a joke so I’m not sure if she was serious. My mom said “it’s mostly the fact now I have to go rewash my hair as it has syrup and it sticky”. The manager then offers a shower she can use….im not sure who travels with shower supplies with them but. I just kept thinking, “What a dumb thing to say”. Like sure let me go shower in this random restaurant before I go to the parks all day. It’s just disappointing at the lack of response from the Disney team. I’m sure they don’t consider the fact that people pay almost $60 per person for breakfast, plus park tickets cost, all to not want maple syrup all over their hair all day. Sure accidents happen, but it was not the magical customer service that we have gotten from Disney in the past and we left with a sour taste in our mouths….and maple syrup in our hair. *****Also side note we were there for one hour and only saw 2 characters ******

I have been to Cape May Cafe many times over the years when I have gone to Disney. It's super easy to book your reservation through the Disney app and to do mobile check in. I had to do in person check in once and the cast members are great! I have always been happy with the buffet options and the process. It is very easy to go up and grab what you want. They have a great offering of normal breakfast foods as well as pastries and crepes. The waiters and waitresses are all very kind and attentive. It is always fun to meet the characters as well! I would definitely book a character breakfast here if you are going to Disney even if you are not staying at the Beach or Yacht club resort

Cape May Cafe is an AYCE seafood buffet located inside Disney's Beach Club Resort. In a New England-style setting with a soft color pallet, you’ll feel like you are having dinner along the sea coast. I like to start with dessert first- one of everything on a large plate for sampling. Their desserts are above average for Disney sweets. Now let’s get to the showstopper- the sea food! Fried shrimp, peel-and-eat shrimp, crab legs, clam chowder, paella, seafood pasta salad, all of which is also served with ribs, chicken, and meat from a carving station. There’s a little section with kid friendly foods. There are a lot of choices here. Speaking of kids, they have a popular character breakfast as well. You’ll want to make reservations for breakfast and dinner in advance; you can’t drive on the property without that reservation. Cape May Cafe is a popular place, and while it’s definitely not cheap, the quality of food and servers is top notch.
