He didn’t come from Chicago where the restaurant chain originated from, but he loved a good hamburger and hot dog with a side of crisp fries. That’s Portillo’s, plus some other things that make it a laid back place for a fun meal. 🌭 They have the Chicago street food thing going on, surrounding you with 1960s garage decor. The food isn’t crazy expensive, plus there’s tons of tables and seating inside and out. We bring a large group of friends, and there’s just enough noise to make all our laughter not so noticible. Lots of families eating here. My friends rave about the Italian Beef sandwiches, while I sing the praises of their cake and shakes for dessert. Or dinner. I’ve had their desserts both ways- at the beginning and the end of the meal. 🌭 Nice restrooms, excellent staff, and food that will remind you of a day with the family. Head there and make your own fun while they make the fries.

Have a plain, jumbo or loaded hot dog, polish sausage, beef and cheese, chicken, peppers, burgers, sandwiches, salads fries, shake to name a few. The must try is their famous cake shake, yes chocolate cake blended into a chocolate shake. Yummy and filling. Enjoy!

Our sandwiches were amazing and the whole place was the right vibe! We will be back on our next trip down!
