As I walked in to place a togo order, there was a couple in front of me waiting to also give their order. Noone gave them the time of day, until an older gentleman barked, there is a computer behind you, use that, and then just disappeared. Okay, wait. Yes, many restaurants are going to self order, yet you are standing behind the register. Take the orders. We as a society have lost the art of customer service and representation. I dont want to interact with a screen 24/7. This is part of what is wrong with today's social interactions. We are becoming robotic. We all place our orders, and like a robotic assembly line, orders get handed out with names barked out. Yet, I lacked the sauces I had added on the order screen, and no napkins. I asked, and was told they are all over there somewhere. Again, service minded people need to be in customer service jobs. Noone looked happy to be there working. And it made sense why, at dinner time, on a Saturday, there were only 2 tables occupied. Relying on technology to keep your fast food joint open, with individuals with zero social skills or enthusiasm, is not going to be a bright future.
