When we reached the window, our total was over $21, which immediately raised concern. The gentleman at the window was professional and began calmly going line by line through the order to identify the issue—no problem there. Then the manager, Lexie/Alexis (unsure of the exact name), abruptly stepped in with a visibly hostile attitude and took over the interaction. She repeatedly questioned us about a croissant that we did not order. We clearly and calmly stated multiple times that we never ordered a croissant and did not want one. Instead of simply removing the incorrect item and resolving the issue, her demeanor became increasingly aggressive. Rather than listening, she continued to challenge us over the same item, as if our repeated, clear responses were somehow unacceptable. Ultimately, instead of fixing the mistake, she escalated the situation and refused us service entirely. This should have been an effortless correction. If a customer states they never ordered an item, basic common sense dictates that it should be removed. Two $5 meals and an extra shot of espresso—that is all we ordered, and that was stated repeatedly. The manager’s behavior was unprofessional, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable. She made the situation far worse than it ever needed to be and reflected extremely poorly on the business. If this is how paying customers are treated, I can only imagine how uncomfortable and hostile the work environment must feel for employees as well.
