When it comes to Jacksonville’s waterfront restaurants, it doesn't get much better than Chart House seafood restaurant. Situated right on Southbank and featuring a unique architectural style, Chart House Jacksonville overlooks the city's gorgeous downtown riverfront and is one of the most interesting buildings in the city. Designed by famous architect Kendrick Bangs Kellogg and inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, our restaurant was even voted as one of the top 100 buildings in the state of Florida.
From our prime waterfront location, diners can spot dolphins swimming out front daily and catch the best views in town of all the boat parades and fireworks displays throughout the year. The St. John's River is the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening or stylish happy hour, all while sampling some of the most creative Prime Rib, steak and seafood Jacksonville has to offer.
This business is woefully mismanaged. Be careful, you can become a victim of this restaurant’s inability to service the customers with respect and care. They overbook , and then leave their clients wait for hours for a very mediocre food. Tonight was my birthday, but the kitchen was overwhelmed to the point that we had to leave after 2 hours waiting for food, same with other guests. I have never seen a place with such lack of skill and interest to service the clients.

The food here was amazing! Every bite was flavorful, and the overall atmosphere made for a really enjoyable dining experience. It’s cozy but lively, with a great vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. One thing that caught me off guard was the caviar being served with a silver spoon—I’ve always been told that’s a no-no, since metal can affect the taste. Still, that was just a minor quirk in an otherwise fantastic experience. The staff were super friendly and attentive, which made the whole visit even better. I’ll definitely be coming back for the food, drinks, and that great atmosphere. Just something to note about the caviar if you’re a stickler for traditional service!

If there were a Michelin Guide category for transcendent human experiences disguised as dinner service, Stephanie at Chart House Jacksonville would be its patron saint, its north star, and quite possibly its founding myth.
Three of us arrived expecting a meal. What we received instead was a masterclass in grace, intuition, timing, and hospitality so seamless it bordered on orchestral. Stephanie did not merely serve our table—she conducted it.
From the moment she appeared, there was an unmistakable sense that we were in the hands of someone operating several dimensions beyond “excellent.” She anticipated needs before they existed. Glasses never reached empty; questions were answered before they formed; recommendations felt less like suggestions and more like benevolent insider secrets from someone personally invested in the trajectory of our evening.
Her presence struck that rare, almost impossible balance: attentive without intrusion, warm without pretense, professional without stiffness. She moved through the dining room with the quiet confidence of someone who has long since mastered her craft and now performs it as art.
What made the experience extraordinary was not simply efficiency—it was care. Genuine, unmistakable care. The kind that cannot be trained, only embodied.
By the end of the night, it became clear that Stephanie had done something remarkable: she transformed a dinner into a memory.
Chart House is fortunate to have her. Jacksonville is fortunate to have her. And any diner lucky enough to sit in her section is, whether they realize it yet or not, about to experience something far greater than a meal.
Five stars feels like an administrative technicality. If there were more to give, she would have already earned them.

I went to the Chart House with my Mom and sister for Christmas day and it was my very first time there. This place is right up my alley because it looks like something from Star Trek and I happen to be a huge Star Trek fan. I also really like that people dress up nicely. The food is amazing and our server was super cool. The combination of the cool Star Trek style interior and architecture and getting all dressed up was what really made me like this place. I plan to come back here again for the 60th anniversary of Star Trek which is September 8. I plan to order one of those cool blue drinks with my meal, because it has that cool star trek look to it.

Very disappointed.
We arrived and were greeted immediately then we sat down. That was great.
Then it just went downhill.
The service started out good but it was off. We were given a cocktail menu, and when we asked about non-alcoholic drinks, the server who happened to be a bartender also, looked confused. Turned us off so we decided to just get waters.
Then when we got the menu, it was basically dropped off. No description or recommendations. Here is a menu. Good luck. Nothing about hey here are some recommendations you might like…
We ordered food and the food took 32 minutes to arrive. Luckily we had opted in for the salad bar so weren’t too hungry.
When food arrived, the food runner says: Can you cut your steak to see if we cooked it the way you wanted it? I was thrown off because they should have a system for that?? called a food thermometer but i complied anyways.
Then the server and everyone forgot about us for 30-40 minutes. No drink refills, no check ups, nothing.
Sadly Another server from another table saw how were just sitting there getting annoyed, our drinks weren’t refilled, so she came over cuz she probably felt bad and helped with that.
When finally our actual server who had forgotten about us, came to our table, I decided to tell her that we have been here for TWO hours. We arrived at 4:32 and it was 6:34 . She defends herself by saying “yeah as you can see we have been busy, and have a full restaurant.”
You charge $48 for a pretty average not-aged steak and thats your excuse? If you know you can’t serve the customer, You could have said sorry we are at capacity.
Chart house has positioned itself as a fine-dining brand, but that service was pretty aweful. Probably will never return.
