Ordered takeout from Shahs of Kabob tonight and wanted to share some balanced feedback. I rarely write negative reviews and generally prefer to support local businesses, but I think there are a few areas here where the experience could be improved.
We initially tried placing our order by phone and were routed to an AI attendant that struggled to take the order correctly. We were told we’d be transferred to a live person, but the call disconnected and asked us to call back later, which was frustrating.
For context, we’re very familiar with Persian food and order it regularly in Toronto. This was our first time ordering Persian food in Florida, so our expectations were based on that experience.
Starting with the positives: the flavor of the Barg (veal) and Joojeh (chicken) kabobs was good and clearly well seasoned.
That said, there were several downsides. For the price point, the portions were extremely small. The Barg was super thin, the koobideh was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The grilled tomato was just a thin slice, whereas most Persian restaurants typically include a whole tomato. The onion portion was relatively large (about a quarter of an onion), which isn’t particularly useful when the rest of the plate feels skimpy.
We also ordered a Shirazi salad and mast-o-musir. Unfortunately, both items were missing from our bag, requiring a return trip to the restaurant. When I went back, I was given mast-o-khiar instead, which is a different dish. The Shirazi salad itself was very small for the $11 price tag, especially considering it’s a simple mix of tomato, cucumber, onion, and dressing.
While I can’t speak for all U.S. restaurants, in Canada the meat portions at Persian restaurants are consistently larger, and rice portions are more generous as well, which helps balance the plate. I’ve also never seen such a small portion of grilled tomato served. At this price level $87 USD (about $120 CAD) for two people, the portions and presentation felt underwhelming and make it hard to justify returning.
Lastly, I arrived for pickup based on the time provided by the system and was even a few minutes late, yet still had to wait an additional 15 minutes.
Overall, between the pricing, portion sizes, order mistakes, and wait time, the experience was disappointing, especially because we were genuinely excited to find a Persian restaurant we could order from regularly. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as there’s clear potential here if these issues are addressed.

I'll say this very slowly, as usual, I waited for my order for 35 minutes even though there were no people, a couple of people came after me, how can I go to lunch during work when I don't even have time to eat because there are six people working in the kitchen and there is no result, I'm shocked everything is very slow and the service is terrible, the chicken is in water... seriously ? Also , the rice , the smell and the taste are just tin ! The taste of sewage without spices ... terrible ! I don't recommend this place to you, it's better to pay $10 more elsewhere and have a delicious meal, and most importantly quickly. Have a nice day, everyone.
