I made a reservation here 2 months in advance for Valentine's Day at 7:15 pm. When we arrived at 7:15, there was a line wrapped around the restaurant just to speak to the host. Everyone in line had reservations. By the time we made it up to the host, we had waited 45 minutes and it was 8:00pm. When we spoke to her, she told us they had overbooked all reservations, had stopped honoring them, and that it would be an additional 20-30 minutes until we could be seated. This was incredibly frustrating, as we had made these reservations very far in advance. The food did not make up for this wait time-- bland and could be made better at home. Skip this restaurant until they get a more structured management system.
Our server was amazing but we ended up waiting hours for our reservation at 9 PM. By the time we got our entree it was 12 AM.
We had gotten there at 9 for our reservation waited in a line outside until 10:30 then were told when we finally got through the line that it will be another 45 minutes. I don’t think you should call it a reservation if it’s more of a waitlist…. Disappointed in the fact that they overbooked when you know the amount of tables you have…

I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant. This use to be my favorite place in Gainesville, and now I will likely never go here again. 2 weeks ago, I made a reservation for today (valentines day) for 6pm. Upon arrival, the hostess told us we would have to wait. I was honestly fine with that. We sat at the bar and had a round of drinks. Once we sat, we ordered food pretty quickly. It took about an hour for us to get our food. It is one of the busiest nights of the year, so I get it. The server brought it out, and I was a little sad because my portion sized looked a little smaller than normal. It was good, but not the best plate of food I’ve ever had in my life. We ask for the check, she brings out a small desert and tells us happy Valentine’s Day and I thought it was very nice. I look at the check and it was almost $100 for 2 people. We have been here multiple times and I have never paid that much so I was very confused. I look at the receipt and saw $37.50 for Chicken Alfredo and $37.50 for another pasta dish my boyfriend ordered. I was shocked, because again, I have never paid that here, so I pulled up the menu online and saw that Chicken Alfredo was $22. So I asked the server about the price difference because paying almost double is absurd. She then informed us that because of their “Valentines Day Special”, they have a $75 minimum and all entrees are $37.50.
There was no mention of this anywhere. The menus didn’t have prices, there was nothing stated when I made the reservation, no signage, etc. There was a line out the door, they would have made a lot of money without having to scam people. It’s not about the money, but the principle. I use to recommend this place and take my family here when they visited, but now I will never do that again.
We made reservations on Valentine’s Day in advance, waited thirty minutes, then were placed at an unstable plastic table covered in a plastic table cloth in the corner outside when we placed reservations for inside. I will never ever go here even if the food was graced by god himself. Insanely loud inside with a line out the building with people who had reservations at the same time as me. If they can’t sit people at tables that aren’t about to flip over they shouldn’t accept reservations and waste peoples times on important holidays.

We visited Da Vinci Restaurant on Valentine’s Day while also celebrating my mom’s birthday, and it was such a special experience! The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion — romantic, warm, and welcoming — and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
A huge shoutout to our server, Cat! She did an amazing job. Cat was so friendly, attentive, and made both celebrations feel extra special. She checked on us often, made great recommendations, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time.
