Amazing place! Great variety of items. Great quantities and quality of fresh meats. My husband and I stumbled across this great place and we back.
There’s a good reason why Mario’s is always crowded-the food is delicious. I always get an Italian sub, among other items, and the roll is the best you will find in all of Florida. You can’t have a good sandwich without good bread and theirs is the best. I’m told the bread comes from NY and is half-baked there and overnighted, and Mario’s finishes the baking process. Any wait you might have is well worth it, they have the deli fully staffed and they’re very efficient in processing orders. Buon appetito!

Truth be told, I have never actually stepped foot inside this establishment. I have not breathed its air. I have not gazed upon its menu. I have not even made eye contact with the soda fountain.
And yet… I am prepared to write a love letter.
My incredible cousin — a true hero in carb-delivery form — has twice now brought me a veal Parmesan and an eggplant Parmesan sub while visiting my dad in the hospital in Sarasota. Let me tell you something: if this is what they’re casually handing out in Fort Myers, the rest of us are living wrong.
These subs are not sandwiches. They are emotional support systems.
The veal? Generous. Not that sad, thin “where did it go?” situation. We’re talking real-deal, substantial, fork-and-knife-if-you-want-to-feel-classy veal. The eggplant? Perfectly cooked, not soggy, not bitter — just sitting there like, “Yes, I am superior.”
And the bread. THE BREAD. Freshly baked. Perfectly seasoned. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The kind of bread that makes you pause mid-bite and reconsider your life choices. The kind of bread that whispers, “You deserve this.”
I have never been to this place, yet somehow I’m emotionally invested. Eating these subs has me casually browsing Fort Myers real estate listings like, “Could I start over here? Is this my new personality?”
Five stars from someone who has never been inside. Zero regrets. Would absolutely relocate for the 🥖 .

The best Italian food in Fort Myers. Try the stuffed meatballs! The service is great as well. Always enjoy stopping by. It may be busy but it is busy for a good reason.

Maybe it is as good as people say, but we waited 15 minutes and the line moved 4 numbers, and we still had 20 numbers ahead of us!! 1:30pm on a Monday, all retirees in no rush so we walked out. Was really looking forward to trying lunch here on my birthday, instead we had to walk out after a lengthy wait with no acknowledgment or end in sight. I hope y’all figure this out and hire more employees and work better! Snowbirds come and go, your locals are here year round!
Looking at reviews, others have frequently mentioned wait times/service/pleasantries….true appreciation of feedback would be noticing a trend, recognizing the problem, and providing a solution.
