Had an awful experience here today. They claim everything is “made to order.” However, my cheesesteak had the wrong cheese, and was freezing inside. Like icy cold. They had an oven repair person on site and stated they were having issues with the oven. Ok, don’t offer hot subs until it’s fixed. They remade my sub with the correct cheese, but it just dangled on top and was totally black and burnt. The meat was also burnt. They stated they don’t use the grill, they cook the sub in the oven. Ok, then it’s not made to order and you’re using frozen Steak-Ums or something along that line, because otherwise that would be a health code violation. Raw meat doesn’t cook in the oven in 10 minutes and you can’t just stick cheese on top of raw meat. The manager (or owner?) had a defensive attitude stating, “I’ve made this twice now.” Twice made, twice inedible. She stated she couldn’t find my ticket and would call me to refund me, but that didn’t happen and I am just going to file a dispute. $17+ for a sub of that quality (75 cents per topping!) is insane. Before you claim “nothing is pre-made,” if I were to subpoena your purchase orders, would I find frozen or pre-cooked meat on them? If so, that’s false advertising. Lots of excuses from this place. Needs a lot of work if it’s going to survive in Fleming. Hopefully it’ll get it together but we won’t be back. I see the owner posting lots of defensive responses on here. Your training and glitches should be worked out before your doors open to the public. These issues shouldn’t be passed on to the customer experience. A 17 year owner knows this. Please don’t reply to me. Nothing I said was untrue and I promise it’s not a good look for customers to see a business arguing with customers. Floridians don’t like rough NY attitudes. We are about good customer service and southern hospitality. Good luck. 2/20 response: ahh, the gaslighting I expected. I took ONE, literally one bite of the sub. The whole center of the sub was freezing. Not cold. LIKE IT WAS FROZEN. I didn’t “eat half.” If that was the case, half the sub would have been gone and there were TWO halves on the plate. Philly cheesesteaks aren’t oven-baked. It doesn’t matter that “up north everyone likes provolone.” The cheese is supposed to be mixed in, not lazily spread on top to burn. There is ZERO percent chance that meat wasn’t previously frozen. It’s steak. It’s not a deli meat (unless you’re shaving deli roast beef, and if so that is NOT a Philly cheesesteak), so your slicer is irrelevant. You did NOT say the next day. You said you’d call me. When someone is expecting a refund, it’s not typically a day or two later. A good manager with 17 years of experience would have just processed it out of the drawer. Your poor attitude is going to hurt your business. These review responses are going to hurt your business. You’re clearly defensive because you’ve had so many complaints. Maybe close your doors, properly train your staff, fix your potential health code violation ovens and your customer service, then try again. My husband, who has 29 years in the food industry and knows the errors inside and out, was calm and polite, especially given your aggression. Take care. Also, it’s pretty obvious the two reviews that were posted at the same time you saw this were not from real patrons, especially since they emphasized “HOT” cheesesteak lol. Friends and family reviews won’t keep your review ratings up once people sample your food and customer service.

First visit was for the New York, New York size, and it was absolutely delicious! It’s a small deli that packs a huge punch of flavor. I highly recommend coming in for some amazing food and taste of New York right here on Fleming Island.

Went there on the day it opened. Nice owners, but needs a lot of work. No business cards, canolies need work, needs boxes for multi take home canolies and such, hotdog tray will not do. Also located in Fleming Island, to survive I strongly suggest an up grade on quality, and presentation, for that part of town. Too many menu items, because they make hardly anything in house. Canolies should be filled to the edge of shell, maybe add some extra chips on the ends, and sprinkle some sugar powder on top. Maybe fresh rolls for deli. If your going to be a NY deli, you need salads for heros, potato, coleslaw and maybe macaroni salad. Limit the Hershey ice cream, flavors and add some quality ice cream and or custard. Remember this is feming island, not south Jacksonville. Quality and presentation is everything. Wishing you the best in your journey. Be back in mid summer see how your doing

We have been excited about trying this place for a while now, and we’re unfortunately very disappointed. We ordered in person, were quoted a 30 minute wait. An hour and a half later, we finally got our food. Everything was bland, no flavor, and just sad. Not worth the money spent or the time we waited. Tasted like everything came from a bag that they ordered from Sysco. We didn’t even finish our food because it was that inedible. It’s understandable that you’ll have growing pains as a new business but this was on another level of disappointing. Sadly can’t foresee this place lasting very long.

Today was opening day and by lunch time there was some computer issues. The owner was there helping with orders and apologizing for delays. I ordered the Trump Tower with some add ons on white bread. I was not disappointed. Lots of meat and taste, it was worth the wait. Hubby ordered the NY Ruben on sourdough. OMG was that delicious, again lots of meat and a dressing. We will be back to try other items to figure out what’s our favorite. They have a breakfast menu and pizza.
