It sucks because the food is actually alright but ohhhh my gosh the most third world restaurant ever. They don’t have a phone, you can not order ahead. If you order on uber eats, they may or may not have what you order but they won’t tell you, you have to find out. You also can not order items as a single item, so if you want a size of jerk chicken, you’ll have to pay $20 for the bowl. The last thing that’s very sneaky for a business is that when you go pay that it takes you to the tips, on the machine, they choose the setting that automatically chooses the largest amount and unless you notice, you get charged the highest tip, if paying with a card. But yeah, food isn’t bad, it’s actually yummy, but the restaurant itself is a pain, to not take phone orders in 2026 is a little crazy but to also not have a phone at all to ask “hey is there X in stock today?” Is wild….

Here’s your updated review with the price added naturally: ⸻ It was my first time here, and I was greeted several times by different staff members who were all ready to take my order, which I appreciated. After reviewing the menu, I chose the griyo bowl with a side of red beans and rice, tostones, and pikliz. As for the food, I would say it was okay—especially for someone who really knows and appreciates flavor. The pork wasn’t very well seasoned, and the rice could have been cooked a bit more and definitely needed more flavor. The pikliz wasn’t the best—I was expecting more flavor and was honestly disappointed. It also lacked the spicy, bold kick that traditional Haitian pikliz is known for. I would suggest adding a Haitian-skilled cook to really bring out those true Caribbean flavors. The portion size for the price is also overpriced for what you receive—my meal came out to $18.36. My favorite part of the meal was the tostones—they were fresh and well-seasoned. I just wish the rest of the meal matched that same quality. I might come back to try the jerk chicken—hopefully I’ll have better luck next time. ⸻ If you want, I can tighten this into a shorter, punchier version that hits harder for reviews 👍

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this space. It’s like a fast casual Caribbean restaurant that is absolute FIRE! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, was served up fast and how can you beat a two for one beer deal during happy hour! Will definitely be back here again soon.

Fast casual caribbean food. i love this place! Try the Griyo bowl and the Akra. It’s a smidge pricey but it’s very filling and good quality food.
