- RNRobert NewsonJan 4, 20262.0I went to this location today to get an apple fritter. To save time I went through the drive-through. The line wasn’t terribly long. The fritter cost $2.12. I gave the girl three dollars and she gave me $.50 back. Bad enough, right? That’s what I thought, anyway. But no. I went back into the shop which totally defeated the idea of going through the drive-through. I asked once again how much the apple fritter cost just to make sure it wasn’t I who had made the mistake. A different girl confirmed that it cost $2.12. I showed her that I had received $.50 back and asked for the remainder of my change. She gave me another $.35. When I asked where the other three cents were, she explained that their policy is not to give out pennies. I explained that if they decide not to use legal tender, then they have to compensate for it. She said she couldn’t give me those three pennies because then her till would be short at the end of the day. But she didn’t mind keeping the 38 cents when I went through the drive-through. After much debate, they finally broke down and gave me the amount I was supposed to get back in the first place. I’m sorry I went.
