After waiting 30 minutes for the English muffin I was told that it would be another 20 minutes! This was not a breakfast sandwich...just a toasted English muffin. The drive through folks were being given orders ahead of all of us. They were not short staffed...there were 5-6 people working. There was no apology or anything.

You step inside with hope in your heart and an order on your lips, only to discover you’ve entered a roulette wheel disguised as a counter. Place your order and the universe responds with a shrug. Your chances of receiving what you asked for hover around five percent, slightly higher if Mercury is in retrograde. Should you speak up, gently, politely, foolishly, the odds rise to ten percent, but first you must endure the ritual blame, where reality is rewritten and you are informed that this was, somehow, always your fault. And the donuts, ah yes, the donuts. A myth. A legend. A whispered rumor. Dunkin’ Donuts does not stock donuts; it merely remembers them fondly. Nine times out of ten they are “out of stock,” as though flour is rare, or rings are forbidden shapes. You will leave with a receipt for one thing, a bag containing something else, and none of it resembling what you ordered. And still, like a fool, or a believer, you will return. I give you “Dunkin’ Don’t Know”
