⭐ 1 Star – Completely Disrespectful Experience
I had a very disappointing experience at Outback Steakhouse. From the moment we were greeted, the service was unacceptable.
Our server, Shawn, came off rude right from the start. He asked what we wanted to drink, then immediately carded us afterward and made the comment, “you never can tell.” I am a 45-year-old Black man and very clearly look my age, so that comment felt unnecessary and honestly profiling.
What made this worse is that just last Tuesday, we visited the same location and were served by Courtney, who provided an excellent experience—no issues at all. This time, however, my partner’s ID had just expired over the weekend and a new one is currently in transit from Ohio. Despite explaining this, Shawn was not open to listening and his tone and demeanor made us feel uncomfortable continuing service with him.
We decided to leave but returned briefly to get his name and address the situation. Courtney suggested we speak to a manager. We waited patiently while the manager, Renee, was speaking with another guest, but never got the opportunity to speak with her directly. Instead, another manager, Tina, approached us after apparently being briefed by Shawn. Unfortunately, she was just as dismissive and rude, and seemed more interested in defending Shawn than actually hearing our concerns.
Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, dismissive, and frankly biased. No customer should feel profiled or uncomfortable in a place they’re spending money.
I would not recommend this location based on this experience.

Lorie’s 65th birthday was celebrated in exactly the right way — good food, good company, and a server who truly elevated the moment. Outback in Brandon must’ve been buzzing with that kind of energy. And Melissa clearly deserves every bit of that 5‑star shout‑out; a great server can turn a nice lunch into a memory everyone carries home.

Not happy this trip... hubbs (handicapped) had a procedure and I wanted to treat him on the way home from hospital. We were seated in a booth?!? as both sides of restaurant were closed... walker was directly in the walking path. He uses a rolling walker with seat... and it was in the way. We both ordered appetizers and sirloin steaks his med rare and mine medium...both should have had some pink but didn't. Broccoli wasn't cooked, onion soup too salty (this is normally my favorite). His sides were salad and potatoes both were fine. Bread delicious. Didn't have time to have them redone...but for a steak house they know better. Fried mushrooms were beyond greasy but other appetizer was fine.
Very irresponsible parents behind us had a kid that was displeased by something and kept loudly kicking under the seat... so loud that the table across from us a parent with two well behaved children looked at me shaking his head in disbelief. Staff did nothing. We took the food to go.

I've eaten at Outback a couple times, I've never been thrilled by their food or service. This time I had an issue with my steak; I ordered a sirloin, 8 oz, medium rare, what I got was an 8 oz sirloin rare. And, it was tough...! I couldn't cut it with the knife that I was provided with. I had to actually pull out my pocket knife to be able to cut through it. Secondly, I couldn't even chew it. And even for me, it was too rare. I brought it up to the server and they took it back to the kitchen and brought me out of different steak. This one was able to be cut and was almost medium rare. The baked potato was actually pretty decent. I had a manager come to address the steak problem, and yes, the order was remade... But there was no other adjustment to the ticket. I'm not one to go to try to get a free meal, but I believe it's only too fair to at least take something off of the ticket. I think I'm probably not going to be going back to Outback again. Sorry Outback.
