  me and my friend went a few days ago. i got the flautas and she got a birria torta. both were extremely bland. not even a hint of salt or pepper. it just tasted like i was eating a hard tortilla. the chile con queso tasted like something you’d get at a gas station. salsa was way too chunky. portion sizing was disappointing. way too expensive for how little we got. service was good though. our waiter was attentive. not worth it for a $70+ bill

  This is not like the other locations!! This was the worst experience at this franchise! Our waitress was horrible. The food left so much to be desired. The prices were much higher than other locations. Scheduled a reservation for our total party of 11. The waitress continuously forgot things we asked for. Lemons, jalapenos, napkins, plates even silverware. One of our plates didn't come out until 10-15 minutes after we had already received food. My niece's shrimp was not deveined or clean. My sons steak was dry. Flan was sent back to the kitchen. I will never be back to this location. This was an utter embarrassment as I recommended our family come to this location. If anyone wants to enjoy a truly better experience and enjoy the food travel further to the Lakeland location. This was a horrible experience. I will be contacting the corporate office.

  Celebrating our 45th anniversary. Told the waitress, she smiled and congratulated us. We ordered the fajita combo for 2. We enjoyed the margaritas, the music and atmosphere. Our food arrived..COULD YOU BELIEVE, I WAS LOOKING FOR THE SHRIMP CHICKEN AND STEAK. "ALL VEGGIES". I asked the waitress if this was my order. She ask, why? I said they forgot all the meat and 1 tortilla rolled in aluminum. She said, it's still in the kitchen, no kidding? I canceled the order, the margaritas was at least free.

  Azteca de Oro is one of my favorite places in Brandon. The atmosphere is warm, familiar, and welcoming. It is perfect for family dinners or a relaxed night out as a couple. We have been here many times, and it always feels comfortable. On this visit, I ordered the salmon, and overall it was a great dish. The salmon was well cooked and topped with a green sauce that was slightly sour, fresh, and full of flavor. It complemented the fish very well. The vegetables, including broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and cauliflower, were fresh and tasted great, giving the plate a light and healthy feel. The only thing that did not work for me was the white mayo-based sauce placed on the plate as a thin line. After tasting the salmon and vegetables and then tasting that sauce, it felt heavy and out of place. It did not match the healthy, clean flavors of the dish and changed the overall taste in a way that was not pleasant for me. In my opinion, the dish would be much better without it or with that sauce served on the side. Aside from that detail, the quality of the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere keep us coming back. Azteca de Oro remains a place we truly enjoy and continue to visit.

  Based on their lunch special promotion sign in front I thought I would drop by and try the Taco Tuesday. When placing my order I asked about adding either beans or rice, I was informed that neither was included. I mentioned to my server the sign out front clearly shows a side included in the picture. She apologized, but still informed me it was not included but I could add a side for an additional $5.00. I declined. When my meal came it was hot and with good presentation. I ordered the steak, which was a bit chewy with little to no flavor. I asked for sour cream in addition. Upon receiving my bill, I was very shocked to see I was charged an additional $3.50 for that. This should have been mentioned to me at the time I requested, as I would have declined. Service was also a little slow as it involved initial seating with a menu by the hostess, chips and salsa brought to the table by another individual, then an additional wait for the server for a drink and order. Price for the special was reasonable, however the entre without any additional sides or condiments unless paying the up charge makes for a pretty basic lunch and not much of an enticement for a return visit.
