My wife and I have been steady customers of Mario's for years. When I have a large group of friends in town, I always go to Mario's. No one has ever been disappointed and the menu is varied and fairly price for a very good value. The staff is professional and friendly and we know many of them over the years which makes it very comfortable for lunch or dinner. Mary, the owner, is a friendly, wonderful person. She always stops by our table for a conversation. She runs an excellent operation. You will not be disappointed going to Mario's.
We have been regulars at Mario’s for years. We moved up north in the county and had kids so we have not been able to ever go out on a date, so finally tonight was the night, of course we wanted to go to Mario’s.
The server was surprised we didn’t need to review the menu, but we always get the same things.
There were two of us. Our dinner came out about 20-30 mins after we were done our appetizer. The 6 top that sat 10-15 mins after us received their entrees first. By the time our food finally came out, the ribeye my partner ordered medium, came out over cooked, well done, gray, with green onions over the top (doesn’t come on dish)
As much as we don’t like to send food back we had to. We waited another 15 mins for a new steak, which shouldn’t take that long but whatever.
During this time, the old female manager walked by us and was overly concerned with the windows, but not once asked if we were ok as I sat there with cold food waiting to eat with my partner who had no food.
The short male manager stood at the kitchen door the entire hour and ten mins we waited before we finally had both dinners. Typically when an error is made the manager will bring the replacement to the table to approve and what not. None of this happened. Not one person acknowledge or apologized the mistake which easentially ruined the vibe of our date night.
Dessert we always get zeppolies, well we ate them to go, burnt, charred tasting lumps of crispy dough. So overcooked that the burnt taste ruined the organic flavor it is meant to have.
Of course it’s always sad to see the quality of a long standing restaurant go down, but I think it’s even worse they their customer service went down hill. It wasn’t busy at all, and I know it’s a Monday, but it’s in the middle of season.
Essentially it all comes down to management, the waiter didn’t care, but his boss doesn’t, as I left to say goodbye to my waiter his breath hit me in my face as I stood up and it remakes of fresh marijuana smell. Coming from someone who knows that was a fresh smoke, floors me that their staff is smoking pot while working, while their orders, or lack their or orders aren’t coming out on time, and despite waiting overly long for food, all of it was over cooked.
Shame on the expo, managers, and server to all allow an overly well done steak to leave that kitchen welll after our food should have arrived by.
My father setup a catering order and had it delivered to the house early in December. The garlic rolls aren’t the same and the bread sticks length keep getting shorter and shorter. The food quality isn’t the same as it once was. Emailing or calling you get nowhere, so we’ve decided to just move onto another Italian restaurant that doesn’t cut corners.

Mario’s Osteria in Boca Raton delivered a memorable dining experience from start to finish. The snapper franchise was outstanding, full of flavor, and beautifully complemented by a side of spinach that balanced the dish nicely. We also had the tuna carpaccio, which was fresh, delicate, and expertly seasoned, setting a high bar right from the beginning of the meal.
Dessert was just as impressive, with both the red velvet cake and the spumoni providing a sweet and satisfying finale. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the service. Our waiter, Eddie , was phenomenal—warm, professional, and exceptionally attentive without ever being intrusive. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the experience feel special.

I have been going to Mario’s for over 20 years, including their previous two locations. I have also ordered catering from them for my annual Christmas party every year for the past two decades. The food has always been great, and until now, I have never had a complaint.
This year, I placed a catering order totaling nearly $938. My order included two half trays of meatballs, two half trays of shrimp scampi, two half trays of chicken marsala, two half trays of rigatoni à la vodka, two half trays of chicken scarpiello, two large bowl house salads, and garlic bread. I am listing everything here so there are no discrepancies.
Included in that order were two half trays of shrimp scampi priced at $180. Mario’s explicitly states that each half tray contains approximately 35 shrimp. When I got home and opened the trays, there was clearly far less than what was represented.
I immediately called to give them the opportunity to correct what I assumed was a mistake. Instead, I was told to essentially go back to the tray and start counting shrimp. In a situation like this, if a long-time customer says the order is light, the customer should be taken at their word. If an accommodation is offered, it should be reasonable. Offering ten extra shrimp on an order of this size and cost was not an acceptable resolution.
After being a loyal customer and strong advocate for this establishment for so many years, I am truly disappointed. Not because of the food quality, but because of how this situation was handled.
