went here today for a birthday lunch for one of my co-workers. When my food came I was about a quarter of the way through the meal and a hair was attached to a French fry I had just put in my mouth. I spit it out and when the waitress came back to the table to check-in on us I showed her the hair on the French fry. Instead of apologizing and offering to have it made again, she seemed frustrated and took the plate away. When she came back to the table to collect the plates from the other people at the table she said she would take my meal off of the check. When she came back with the check she apologized and said this normally does not happen here. However there was still a frustrated attitude in the delivery of her apology. With a restaurant as well known as this one I would have expected the meal to be made again and for the manager to have come by the table but neither occurred. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I’m very disappointed in the experience. Won’t be coming back here again.

Abe & Louie’s in Boca Raton is a legit high-end steakhouse. We’ve been here a few times now, including for my wife’s birthday, and it’s been consistent every time—which is what you want at this level. The place has a classy feel without trying too hard. It’s upscale, but still comfortable. You’re not walking in feeling out of place, but you can tell right away it’s not your average dinner spot. Service is strong. The staff is attentive, stays on top of things, and knows what they’re doing. You’re not chasing anyone down, and they don’t hover either—it’s a good balance. For a nicer restaurant, that matters. Food-wise, everything comes out the way it should. Steaks are cooked right, presentation is clean, and you can tell they care about how the dishes hit the table. Also had Lobster was also great.Nothing feels rushed or sloppy. We’ve been back multiple times now, and that says a lot. There are plenty of places to try, but this is one we keep coming back to, especially for occasions. It just delivers. Overall, if you’re looking for a high-end steakhouse in Boca, this is a solid go-to. We’ll definitely be back again.

Went here on Easter Sunday and the overall experience was very much below average for a high end steak house. There were some highlights but also some critical errors that really made the dining experience mediocre at best. It was myself, my wife and our four children. We dine out a significant amount. We were greeted immediately and sat without a wait. Our server, Tom was very fun and interactive. We were sitting down for a full-dining experience with our kids and immediately felt like we were being a bit rushed. We put our wine in and then were asked about appetizers immediately without really getting a proper time for 6 people to review the menu. We proceeded to put in a seafood tower, which was excellent however because the timing was so rushed we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it. I wanted to put in another appetizer as well, which was the bacon, also a crowd favorite. However when we put in the bacon we also had to put the meal in for the table. The steaks came out and we weren’t even half way through the seafood tower. That was then all consolidated. At this point I was disappointed. They knew they put the entrees in far too quickly and really rushed the dining experience when we had over $100 worth of appetizers on the table. At that point it just clearly was not the delivery of a 5 star experience. We had a filet-Benedict 4/5 14 oz strip 4/5 12 oz filet 4/5 and a ribeye that was over cooked…it was ordered medium and at a place like that you expect pink to be the lightest shade you find within an inch of the perimeter of the steak. This one had a cap on it that was completely shriveled and brown 1.5/5. I then tried to order a red wine with my steak. I asked what they had for reds by the glass…proceeded to order the super tuscan which apparently they didn’t have, and our alternate server decided to sub the wine out on his own and tell me “this is better” and I believe it could’ve been a belle glos but he didn’t even bother to come back to the table to ask me what I wanted and took it upon himself to decide for me. When they brought out the sides, and this may be normal for Abe n Louie’s but they did not serve a single side order on a plate. I’ve been fortunate enough to eat at many other top steakhouses and the server has always served the sides, especially with a party of 6 and having 3 sides. Our meal was coming to an end and we then ordered dessert. The skillet cookie was 5/5 and a big hit, Tom also brought over jelly beans which was a nice little touch… It would take a lot for me to ever go back here over our go-to New York Prime or CG. They don’t miss on making it an experience. I’m not letting them off the hook for it being Easter. We were there at 11am and they had light traffic, a party of 6 is going to be there two hours…no need to rush our meal in anticipation of what I’m assuming was a large number of covers the rest of the day.

My sister's choice, for her birthday dinner was Abe and Loui's in Boca Raton. Truly an incredible experience! We had the most magnificent (charred) New York Strip steak we've ever had in our lives, no exaggeration! Cooked to a perfect medium, seasoned impeccably! The crab cake had large, succulent crab (very little breadcrumb - just enough to bind it together). The "hash browns", charred broccoli, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, were definitely made fresh, on the premises. Friends, no micro garbage here! Our server, Enzo, was so amazing, efficient, friendly, warm and accommodating. Then we had the pleasure of meeting the Manager, Joshua Turgel, who actually came to our table to introduce himself and shake our hand, was class personified. He treated us to two desserts, the birthday brownie ladened with cream, and the most delicious butterscotch bread pudding EVERRR! Friends, if you're looking for a SUBLIME experience in a steakhouse, Abe and Loui's is the place to go.

Oddly my husband said we’ve dined here before long, long ago (I don’t remember) but we hadn’t been back. The restaurant has an old time charm of a steakhouse, with top notch service for the most part. Victor was nothing less than 5 stars assisting me with my OpenTable issue…he definitely went above and beyond, and comp’d a dessert for us for the inconvenience to no fault of theirs. As for the food, Cesar salad was underdressed and lacked Parmesan cheese, with pieces of romaine too big for a human bite…who wants to be cutting up salad to eat? The lobster casserole was recommended by a friend…it came drowned in enough oil and saturated breadcrumbs to make anyone choke, lacked salt as well, however it was perfectly cooked. The bone-in ribeye cut was less than I would have expected from this restaurant…I had a big piece of silver skin, and it was rather lean taste and texture more of a sirloin than a fatty, marbled ribeye...more like choice as opposed to a prime cut imo. It was, however, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The baked potato was barely warm…we finally flagged down our server and asked if it be heated … we were at that point already 1/2 way through our meal. By the time they returned, I only took another 3 bites as I was finished eating. The potato was put under a broiler for a hot minute as the very top was slightly warmer, better…but underneath was still the same. The creamed spinach was amazing, reminded me of Peter Lugers in Brooklyn! Now the best was dessert. The butterscotch bread pudding was delicious although we wished it was crispier and thw chocolate layer cake was the BEST I’ve ever had, light and just the perfect balance of sweetness served w/ a big scoop of schlag (again for my Peter Luger fans)! A little inconsistent I’m afraid is probably why we hadn’t been back all these years.
