- MIMarie IronsNov 28, 20251.0I bought a fresh 18 lb turkey (in Signature wrapper) from Acme and cooked it for Thanksgiving. While preparing and stuffing it, I thought it felt very light for a turkey of that weight (wish I had thought to weigh it before prep). I had expected it to cook between 5 and 6 hours. However, when I removed the foil after 3-1/2 hours, it was already overcooked and still needed to brown. Also, when removing the turkey from the oven, there was at least one inch of grease in the bottom of the roasting pan, yet the breast portions were so dry that we couldn't even carve it without it breaking up. I made gravy which was horribly greasy and my stuffing, which is usually perfect, was so wet that we couldn't even eat it. And it tasted terrible. I do believe this turkey was repackaged and that it weighed far less than the weight I paid for. Needless to say, our Thanksgiving was ruined. I put a lot of effort into this meal and everyone was so disappointed (not to mention that the turkey alone cost over $35). I will NEVER shop at Acme again.

Since I moved to Middletown I started shopping at this Acme because it’s close (about 10 minutes from my shop). I went to the deli today to buy chicken for my employees and also picked up salads and groceries. The deli employee who helped me was very short and unhelpful. I had to repeat myself several times because my English isn’t perfect, and he responded rudely. When I asked whether the chicken was good or spicy, he answered curtly, “I don’t know,” which felt dismissive since he works there. His tone and manner made me uncomfortable, and I won’t be returning to that deli. I hope management trains staff to be more patient and respectful to customers, especially those who are new to the area or have limited English. Employees should respect and support customers, especially those who may not speak perfect English. Instead of being patient and helpful, the deli employee I dealt with made fun of me and was very rude. When I asked simple questions about the food he was selling, he acted annoyed and dismissive. His attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful, and it made me feel that he was treating me poorly because of my English. This kind of behavior shows bad manners and poor customer service. If I were the manager, I would not allow someone with that attitude to represent the store. Customers deserve respect, kindness, and patience. Rude as hell and Racist
