  I recently visited Food Lion to purchase groceries and had a very disappointing experience at checkout. I had a full cart and politely asked the cashier if I could quickly grab frozen blueberries I had forgotten. She said yes, but her tone was rude. As I was walking back, I heard her mumble “about time,” which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. After checking out, I received cash back and then made a second small purchase (gum) to get additional cash back, which I regularly do at other Food Lion locations. The cashier, Joanne, immediately responded with an attitude, questioning me and cutting me off mid-sentence as I tried to explain. She then waved me off dismissively and told me to go to customer service instead. The interaction felt very rude and disrespectful. On a positive note, Nancy at customer service was kind, professional, and resolved my issue quickly. I truly appreciated her help, and she mentioned she would speak to Joanne about the interaction. I understand that policies may vary by store, but there is no reason for a customer to be spoken to in such a dismissive or unprofessional manner. A little courtesy goes a long way. I hope this is addressed moving forward.
