- VMVarun Maheshwari3 days ago5.0First off, the vibes are immaculate. Tucked away on the corner of H St, Lydia on H brings taste and culture together. Their food is a homemade style kitchen serving West African flavors. In the evening they turn into a music/bar setting with an upstairs that has a small club area + a speakeasy/pool bar area behind a hidden bookcase. Wanna know more? Ask for Lola. She's the light of the whole place and manages it like it's her own home. 100% worth the visit if in DC. Bring some energy!

Our event was displaced downstairs where we couldn't order dinner after 10pm. They stopped serving entres to us so they could serve the birthday party where we were supposed to be. Cool bartender service, but the management or decision makers get an extreme side eye and disapproval, especially moving folk to standing room only and then denying them main courses unexpectedly.

Woman at the bar ensured they will be there for us. Nothing. Our server would not even look at us. We left. Never again.
