  i went to buy a pregnancy test on the evening of 03/01. an employee came and asked “what do you want” when i needed her to unlock the cabinet for me, then sighed and rolled her eyes literally to the back of her head. i know working in customer service can be stressful but i feel like a simple request that is in the job description doesn’t warrant that type of reaction especially when i was putting in effort to be respectful and kind. buying a pregnancy test is already humiliating enough and getting actual scrutiny for it was hella embarrassing. just a heads up, when it comes to healthcare products, there needs to be a level of sensitivity involved because you truly don’t know what people are going through or why they need to buy certain products :) hope this can improve.

  This is copied from the social media post I just published. I was in Safeway today getting the few groceries we can't get anywhere else. I needed a box of Alka Seltzer, which was locked up inside the Brand Name Item Museum/Prison that now occupies an entire aisle in the store. I stood there looking needy, then asked the pharmacy clerk, who was RIGHT THERE, for help. "Sorry but you have to get a courtesy clerk to help. We don't do that," was the response. I then went to a courtesy clerk who was checking groceries. "I will call for help while I check you out." She proceeded to check me out, and I paid. Then... and I am not exaggerating, she told me to, "stand over there and wait while I call again for help." I lost it. I told her, "that's OK I will get this item at my next stop. I am not waiting to buy something and get checked out again for it. This will be one more thing I add to my list of "don't buy-it-at-Safeway."

  If you actually need the groceries you requested don’t use Safeway’s service. First , my order was supposed to be delivered on Sunday (I used the largest delivery window because I thought they might be busy) at 10 pm my groceries had not arrived. I received a message that my order was not going to be delivered after 10 pm. I rescheduled the order for Monday (I had 45 items in the list). Tonight my order was delivered with 18 items missing! EIGHTEEN including one item they asked to sub. This was an incredibly bad experience and I won’t use this service again. Oh - I won’t get my refund for 7 - 10 business days… though they happily billed me before anyone shopped for my items. It is rare that I write a negative review - lesson learned - go pick up my own groceries.
