Behind the counter, an enthusiastic crew of Central American workers keeps the place running, shouting order numbers with admirable conviction. I am from New York, and when I miss feeling like a teenager in the city, I come here. It has the same energy as early 2000s Manhattan: pigeons, rats, and the faint, absurd possibility of running into Trump. Five stars for the fries. Two for the atmosphere.
