The folks who work at self checkout are very friendly. However, there are some significant issues that impact the overall shopping experience. The parking garage and surrounding area have ongoing security concerns, particularly during evening hours. There's also a persistent problem with shopping cart supply and management. Carts are frequently abandoned throughout the neighborhood -- some as close as a block away and as far as Dupont Circle. I've attempted to return them myself, only to find that the wheel-locking mechanism prevents me from doing so. When I brought this to the attention of store employees, I was told "that's not our problem." I understand cart theft is challenging, but the dismissive response and the impact on our neighborhood warrant attention from management and an effort to collect them.
