  Being at chicatana was the best experience I’ve ever had in a Mexican cuisine. my waiter that day recommended me a lot of options in the menu and I picked out some from his recommendations and it did not disappoint I tried the spicy passion fruit and the Al pastor margarita where the best margaritas I’ve ever tried in the DMV and for starters I was recommended the flautas de pollo and they were incredible and I definitely recommend it. And then the tacos where very good you have a good selection of protein for the taco I really loved the specialty Al pastor taco and the barbacoa where my favorites and if I were to eat taco in the DMV it would most definitely be chicatana 10/10

  We visited Chicatana with a party of 16. While everyone loved the food, unfortunately our bodies did not. Six out of the sixteen people experienced food poisoning in the following two days after the visit. Since we are co-workers and didn’t share any other food, it must have come from eating at Chicatana. It was a terrible experience. I waited with posting this review to give the manager a chance to respond to my email but they didn’t even bother answering after days. What a disappointment.

  The food was pretty good, but I was underwhelmed. The rice side with the enmoladas was not cooked well. The service was pretty good and the overall atmosphere was alright. I was very excited to try Chicatana, and I still think it was worth the try, despite my slight disappointment... Maybe I caught it on an off day. I think I will be back, but I am not rushing to be back.

  My girlfriend and I have now been twice and I don't know that we'll go anywhere else. The guacamole is the best- fresh with cilantro and chili oil and salsa matcha. We also had sopes de pulpo, al pastor taco, carne asada taco, camaron al diablo taco, duck hurrache, and langosta taco- every bite was absolutely delicious. The pulpo fresh and cooked perfectly, the steak perfect MR-M, the shrimp were the perfect texture, and as someone who eats a lot of duck I can honestly say it's up there with some of the best I've had. Antonio one of the owners was kind and generous and a pleasure to meet. Makes a mean spicy mezcal margarita too. We look forward to many more nights at Chicatana. -Caleb and Danielle
