  Hands down one the best bars + restaurant I’ve been too in the DC area. With focus on the bar the menu offerings was sublime. One of kind drinks it was hard to decide what to pick. I’m not a heavy drinker so some of the drink portions are reduced. Axol head of the bar has purposeful crafted such a unique experience through the drinks. My favourite was London was calling; an Earl grey milk punch with butterfly pea and In house made marshmallow that was lavender and maply gin flavoured. All the cocktails had was class. Went for happy hour. The food at restaurants in dc is where most places fall short but here at dovetail they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. Beer battered fish sliders was Delish 🔥 Got some miso wings with a blue ranch dip fried extra crispy and as a dedicated wing specialist it was 10/10 wing experience. The oysters was very fresh and perfect addition to all the drinks had. Also finished off with an espresso martini and that was the best one I’ve had to date. This has definitely become one of my recommended DC spots for drinking and great food. Service was phenomenal. Atmosphere was sophisticated but very relaxed and chill. Can’t recommend enough prices are fair and quality is excellent

  Located in Logan Circle, but on a quiet street is the Viceroy Washington DC Hotel sits Dovetail. After a day out in DC, we wanted a great dinner to finish off our night and that's what we got! The atmosphere was so calm and relaxed; service was great; and the food was delicious! We did not expect a 3 or 4 course meal option which was so worth it! And don't skip the fries if you are a fry lover; save room! I will for sure make time to go back and visit. Once is not enough.

  Dovetail is within the Viceroy Hotel. It has a beautiful patio dining area that looks like it would be so nice in warm weather. We were a party of 7. For appetizers we ordered oysters on the half shell, crab deviled eggs, and pimento mac and cheese. The eggs were particularly good. For mains, we ordered the four available; gnocchi, salmon, chicken, and the bistro filet. The mains were very good and filling. Highly recommend, especially if you visit during warm weather and can sit outside. The patio area is beautifully decorated.

  Amazing cocktails and food. Bartender Axol really knew what she was doing. All the food that we ordered was amazing and on point with flavors. Just the chicken was a tad bit salty. Also, I think our server was in training, and kind of go missing in between, even with a relatively empty restaurant.

  Have gone to Dovetail on multiple occasions and have always sat at the bar. On each occasion, Axol has been the bartender on duty and each time I've tried a different drink, whether a mocktail or cocktail. Each one has been fantastic and I look forward to trying more of their creations. Service was impeccable and saw Axol go above and beyond with various guests, making sure their needs were being met and they were being well taken care of. All around very impressed and will be returning to Dovetail in the future.
