The food was so tasty! Loved all the vegetable plates. The wine was delicious. The service was amazing and the restaurant had a great vibe, full and energetic but noisy so easy to have a conversation.

It got better...then got great.
So we arrived before our reservation time and we knew we would probably sit at the bar to enjoy a cocktail. However while there were plenty of seats available they had not been bussed, and while the hostess welcomed us with a smile, the bar staff could not seemed bothered with acknowledging our existance. And they were not busy. Come on...bussing the bar should be damn near instantaneous just like welcoming guest. Even as we ordered our outstanding beverages...an espresso martini and a pineapple express...the dirty glasses and plates remained. Really? That is the best you can do? I was real close to paying our tab and walking out the door. An absolutely inexcusable level of service. Even as we were told our table was ready...the dirty glasses and plates from the previous guests remained. Ours of course went with us to our table. That is when the level of service did a 180 and the stars started to appear in the service Joaquin A provided. He was attentive and informative on the menu. The first thing to arrive was the patatas bravas and while it tasted great, it was closer to a cool room temperature rather than warm. Not really worth sending back because they did taste fine but not a stellar effort. However the rest made us forget the speed bump...
The Jamon Bellota was an experience well worth the price. Followed by the Gambas al Ajillo, Montana de Bistec, Bikini Serrano, Pan con Tomate...all fantastic. Those were chair worthy. Plus we each enjoyed the red and white sangrias. But more importantly the dirty plates were removed immediately as a new one arrived. I would guess the dirty glasses and plates were still languishing at the bar...
We finished with churros...so simple...but hard to make well. And those were exceptional. We are so glad we did not bail after the experience at the bar...we would have missed exceptional food not counting the cool patatas bravas.

Our experience unfortunately started on the wrong foot. We arrived about 10 minutes before our 11:00 reservation, right as the restaurant was opening. While we understand staff may still be preparing, the welcome felt noticeably uninviting. When we asked if we could wait inside to stay out of the cold, the response came across as dismissive rather than accommodating.
Service throughout the meal felt inattentive and somewhat rushed. Although we mentioned that we planned to order à la carte instead of participating in brunch, we were hurried through placing our order and our menus were taken before we had a chance to consider additional items. When one of the dishes we selected—the Iberico mac and cheese—was unavailable, no alternatives were suggested or offered.
When our charcuterie board arrived, it was placed on the table without any explanation of its components. When we asked for clarification, the response was brief and lacked detail. Similarly, dishes were delivered without any description or interaction, which made the overall experience feel impersonal.
The food itself was decent, though several items could have benefited from better seasoning. While we didn’t dislike the meal, it didn’t stand out enough to offset the service experience.
Overall, we left feeling more like an inconvenience than valued guests, which was disappointing given the cost of the meal. With so many dining options available, we believe there are other restaurants in the area that provide a more welcoming and attentive experience.

Nestled in the heart of Penn Quarters in downtown DC, this Spanish tapas restaurant has been on our list of must-try places for a while. We finally decided to visit on a weekday lunch. As we arrived early, the restaurant was still quiet and pleasant, with a few diners already seated. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
We indulged in a variety of classic Spanish tapas, including CROQUETAS DE SETAS, BIKINI, and Montado de Bistec y Chorizo. Each dish was a delightful treat, showcasing the authentic flavors of Spanish cuisine.
We both really enjoyed the Montado de Bistec y Chorizo.
I’ve already been thinking about going back to try more.
