O-Ku DC invites guests to explore rare and unique dining options –traditional sashimi and sushi, innovative Japanese specialties and wood-fired robata-style dishes from the Kitchen’s Binchotan grills. The fish and other ingredients are sourced from the highest-quality purveyors around the world and is committed to using sustainably sourced ingredients when possible.
Atmosphere is relatively quiet with some background music that fills the void while chatting. The service here was impeccable, took care of me and explained things well. I tried several different sushi rolls (4 rolls all together) and it felt like I was eating at an Omakase without the price of an Omakase. They do have an Omakase experience here as well, might have to try it next time. Definitely worth the stop.

Very trendy and beautifully decorated Japanese restaurant in Noma.
It was very crowded when I visited.
Great service and ambience. However the “Moriawase” was disappointing. Wish it came as 12 different nigiri…

Amazing ambiance, food, service and decor. Upon arrival I was impressed with the energy and cleanliness of the restaurant (and the restroom!). Our sever Lark was pleasant. I am not a sushi aficionado and I cant recall the variety of sushi rolls my friend ordered us; however, every bite was delightful!

We stumbled upon this spot near our hotel and what a wonderful surprise it was. We were super under dressed due to just traveling into DC, 3 hour drive.
Super fresh and delicious! Honestly, the wild mushrooms stole the show for me. We also got surf and turf roll and the Mt. Fuji roll. Both great but the surf and turf was my favorite. The char grill on the lightly cooked steak was amazing, the crunchy onions, green sauce. All married wonderfully.
We were able to find things for our kids to eat, ages 4 and 7, which was also a HUGE plus! Kids enjoyed the dumplings, white rice, and skewered teriyaki chicken.
