- RBRachel BrainApr 14, 20261.0The senior discount of 5% off your entire order on Tuesdays will not be taken off if there are no managers on staff. It was 6pm, and the store closes at 10pm. The 2 cashiers told my mother and I that they aren't even trained on how to even apply it, and that there MUST be a manager on staff to give the override. They then proceeded to tell us that all managers had gone home hours ago. Nowhere on the tiny sign that advertises this discount does it say that a manager must be on staff AND come shop before 5pm. ACME has pulled some real, shady, petty bullshit lately like constantly having to tell their cashiers that you're buying regular apples, not organic. Otherwise they pull a fast one and charge you the organic price knowing you won't really notice until you get home and look at the receipt. Or if an item rings up with no price, they price it at whatever similar items next to it are priced at which could either be cheaper than you expected or grossly overpriced. Usually the latter. I know other stores do this, but if you buy "cheese" or "meat" ends, there's a variety of kinds of cheese or meat in the package. So are you paying $8.99/lb for one of the packs of ends containing an expensive cheese brand or $10.99 for bologna meat ends or do they just play the price is right and spin the wheel to see what cost they should label it at?
