Off to a great start, we shared the calamari app and both ordered a lobster dinner based off the amount of others we saw enjoying it. And that's when everything went downhill. The calamari was chewy but had good flavor, everything in my pot (corn, potatoes, sausage, clams and mussels) wae so old and over cooked, and the juice at the bottom was flavorless, I was holding out hopes for the lobster...how do you kill a 2lb lobster as a beachside ocean front restaurant?? The claw meat was dry and almost gritty, the tail was stringy and tough and I felt like a dog chewing on a bone trying to chew through it. The last attempt to save face with the food, we tried the key lime pie. This will go down as one of the worst I have ever had. The crust was a mushy/gritty mess, I couldn't even finish it. Service was extremely slow despite not being busy. Which seems on par, when the 20% tip is automaticly added no matter what effort is put fourth. Despite the food, the atmosphere was unbeatable and this evening will go down as a fun memory of "remember that trip to CT, when we found that amazing beach bar with the worlds worst lobster dinner ever!?" 😂
