  The New Milford, CT Stop & Shop has gone severely downhill over the last two years. Now it is FILTHY, very poorly maintained, and the store is in the worst condition I’ve ever seen in all the years I’ve shopped here. The ceiling is water stained, damaged and leaking in many areas. Above the produce section, the entire ceiling is covered in stains and leaks. This has been an issue in this section for over 2 years and yet it’s only gotten much worse. There are numerous stains and leaks above the dairy cases. Above the water aisles, there are 2 missing ceiling panels and numerous leaks. The ceiling vent is dirty as well. Numerous leaks and stains above both the seasonal aisles and health & beauty aisles. Both entrances have multiple stained ceiling tiles. Above the frozen section there are two leaking/stained ceiling tiles that have been leaking for over 2 years. Each year I’ve watched that leak get worse and worse with nothing done to fix it. The floors which used to be clean in the past are now dirty in every corner of the store The entire store has dirty floors with stains, dirt, and scuff marks. The floor is especially filthy all along the dairy and meat cases in the back. There are numerous stains, dried up spills, along with dirt and dust all along the flooring at the bottom of the cases. The floor in front of the self-serve bakery case is extremely filthy with a pile of dirt, dust and it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or even swept in well over a year. It is literally black with filth. The flooring along all of the shelving in the aisles, and all of the freezers has a build up of dirt, dust, and dried up spills across the entire store. The checkout lanes have dirty floors. Right now the floors are the filthiest I’ve seen since I’ve been shopping here. The dairy cases are also filthy in many areas. There is fuzzy black mold along with spills, dirt, and debris on the bottom of the cases in numerous sections, especially the cheese and juice sections. The cottage cheese and sour cream shelves are filthy with black mold, large smears of dirt, dust, and dried up spills everywhere. There’s even mold growing where the price tags are. The entire dairy case needs to be deep cleaned from top to bottom. Milk cases are dirty as well. The bathrooms haven’t been remodeled in years and the stall walls are stained with graffiti, lighting is dim, the door slams shut, and it just feels old, rundown, and dingy. Bottle room is filthy. Outside the store, the cart corals are falling apart and never were replaced. The storefront paint is peeling and visibly worn in many areas, and the sign is dirty. There’s often garbage scattered around the side of the store. Check for expired items, especially in dairy. I always find expired food in that section. What is going on here?? I’ve watched Stop & Shop go way downhill over the last few years and this store is a perfect example of that severe decline. Up until 2024-2025, this was a great store. It used to be clean, well maintained, and well stocked with fresh foods. That has completely changed in the last two years. I couldn’t believe how disgustingly dirty and poorly maintained this store has become. There is no excuse for such filthy floors, so many water stains and leaks in the ceiling, dirty moldy dairy cases, expired foods etc… This store is neglected - it desperately needs to be cleaned up and there needs to be a full remodel. What is management doing here? These conditions are unacceptable. Clearly management both at the corporate level and the store level have given up on this store. It has received no investment while the building falls into disrepair. This store’s severe decline is one of the primary reasons why I avoid Stop & Shop at all costs. What’s sad is this isn’t the only Stop & Shop with these issues. New Fairfield is even worse, and many others in this area have similarly gone way downhill. District management along with store management needs to be entirely replaced in this entire area as all of their stores in this area have gotten really bad. Avoid Stop & Shop!!!

  First visit to this location purchased what I thought were apple turnovers for a road trip, but into the turnover and turned out to be turnovers filled with another fruit. I have children with food allergies and this is dangerous, thankfully they’re not allergic to whatever this fruit filling is, as my daughter mentioned eating one of the turnovers the say before with the same filling, however there needs to be better quality control and monitoring that correlates to proper labeling.

  This grocery store has gotten very pricey but I don't feel the quality of meats has improved much.
