This store does indeed carry a full line of groceries. Some employees are very friendly, while others are snooty. The point of my review is the horrible problem of employees wearing VERY STRONG perfume to work. I am going to mention two of the worst ones. Rebecca, who runs the self scan area on Sunday mornings, has extremely strong vanilla-type perfume on. Just walking past that area is too much. Rebecca was ringing a regular register one time. I had to take my things off the belt and move. The manager rang me out. I told her about the perfume. The Sunday before Easter, Emily was doing shop at home orders. Her perfume was so strong, my eyes were burning for two days after. My purchases smelled like the perfume, as did my bags, my car, and my house. I am chronically ill. I have COPD, severe eosinophilic asthma, and severe scent intolerance. I wear a filtered RZ mask to the store. I also wear gloves. I shop when the store opens as to avoid crowds. I have no immunity. My husband also wears a mask. The perfume was overwhelming to him. Imagine not wearing a filtered mask? I could have passed out or possibly died. We refuse to shop at this store ever again. There is no reason to load up with perfume to work at a grocery store. I have to eat, but those women don't have to wear perfume to work. It permeates the food. It is completely unfair to me, and others who struggle with toxic, chemical odor. This is very upsetting to me. I have to change my life around and find a new place to shop. Stop and Shop should care about their customers. Deborah Bartlett

I had a very upsetting experience at the Western Union inside Stop & Shop in Milford. I came in to make a payment for my disabled mother’s car, and this was my first time ever using this location or Western Union there. When I first entered, the woman at the desk told me to go to the end of the table near the last register and provide my ID. After I went there, she then moved to the middle register. I asked if I should stand there instead, and she told me no, that it was okay. Already, the process felt disorganized and confusing. I use SoFi Bank, and the employee told me my card was not a bank-issued card. I politely explained that it was. She then called over her manager, who said the same thing. It was only after I pulled up my banking app to prove it that the manager realized she was wrong and apologized, saying her finger had been covering the part that showed it was an actual bank-issued card. I smiled and said it was okay, trying to move past it. Then, after I gave the employee the payment information and told her the amount, she suddenly said I needed two forms of ID, including my Social Security card. I am a 23-year-old Black man, and while I do carry my ID, I do not carry my Social Security card around with me because it is an important and sensitive document that most people do not regularly carry for obvious reasons. At that point, I was told they could not help me, and they immediately moved on to assist the next White gentleman. As this was happening, the manager slammed the door on the way out. The entire interaction felt unfair, dismissive, and unprofessional. The customer service was not genuine, and I was made to feel like I was wrong just for coming in there. I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this location based on the way I was treated.
