For the service to be considered “bad,” it would have had to improve a lot from how terrible it actually was.
We arrived around 8:40 PM (they close at 10). We ordered burgers and two milkshakes, and everything seemed fine, until the manager got upset that the cashier sold us the shakes, saying the machine “wasn’t working” after we had already paid. She tried to refund us, but since we paid with Apple Pay and didn’t have the physical card, she said there was nothing she could do unless we had the card with us, even though the mistake was clearly theirs.
After that, the experience only got worse. My sister and her fiancé were visiting from another country and were excited to try Five Guys, but it was completely ruined. They wouldn’t let her get more peanuts because they were “closing” that area, even though it was barely 9:15 PM. While we were still eating, they started putting chairs away and even pouring water on the floor around us.
The manager was extremely rude the whole time and kept giving us unpleasant looks.
Honestly, we felt rushed out and completely unwelcome. If you’re planning to eat at this location, I strongly recommend going somewhere else where customers are treated with basic respect.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this place. There was still about an hour before closing when I asked for a bag to get some peanuts, but when I turned around, the product had already been removed. I politely asked if I could still have some, but the employee refused without any willingness to help.
Additionally, the same staff member (a short woman) was quite rude throughout the interaction. We also had an issue with a milkshake that she claimed was already melted due to the time. When we requested a refund, it was unnecessarily difficult and caused inconvenience.
Overall, very poor customer service. Lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.

Ordered 2x little hamburgers and 1x hamburger all three had the SAME SIZE, I checked immediately and noticed the burgers did not have cheese on them, I asked if they can fix it, the ladies with an attitude said no, I never ate a hamburger without any cheese, a cheeseburger its simply bun cheese and a patty, my kids ate patty with a bun for $7.89 , I ordered mine as a meal $17 cooked onions, small fries no cheese , one side had raw onions one had cooked onions, the burger bun was cold on top. Will never come back again.

Came in to pickup to go order, got ignored by all 3 employees for 5+ minutes. My food was sitting on a shelf the entire time but they couldn't acknowledge my existence until someone else got in line behind me. Obvioulsy by the time I got to my car the fries were a soggy mess. I understand being busy, but to completely ignore someone spending money in your establishment, that's disgusting. It takes 2 seconds to greet someone, and another 5 seconds to ask how you can help them. Plenty of places in the area that will appritiate your food order, your time and your money.
What is the Five Guys story/How did you guys get your name?
Five Guys began its pursuit to redefine the global burger landscape in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell asked three of their sons whether they wanted to start a business or go to college. Now, three decades after our first location opened in Arlington, Va., Five Guys – a fast-casual restaurant chain named for the Murrells' five sons – serves a classic take on hamburgers, fries and milkshakes in more than 1,700 locations across 24 countries.

How many restaurants does Five Guys have?
As of January 2026, we have more than 1,900 locations in over 24 countries!
Does Five Guys offer delivery?
Most North American locations offer delivery. The best way to find out if the location nearest to you offers delivery is to visit our website or download the app.
Additionally, we work with all major third-party delivery companies in the U.S., including DoorDash and Uber, so feel free to search for Five Guys through their platforms!
Does Five Guys offer gluten-free options?
The only products we offer that contain gluten are our buns, hot dogs (Canada only), HP sauce (UK only), and the malt vinegar condiment for our fries. In Canada, our Poutine Gravy condiment also contains gluten. All of our sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs and the veggie sandwich, are available without a bun via our wrap or bowls.
While our crew members do all they can to avoid it, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. Please review our nutritional, ingredient and allergen chart for the most accurate information.
Why does Five Guys have peanuts for free?
Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
What is the best way to reheat leftover fries?
Leftover fries are excellent reheated in the oven (or Air Fryer). According to Chad Murrell, one of the Five Guys, just pop them in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Also, give those leftover fries a try as hash browns, home fries, or even as the filling in an omelet.
Why is Five Guys switching from a fry cup to a fry bag?
We are switching to fry bags to ensure your fries stay fresher and as part of our larger commitment to the environment. The bags allow air to circulate better, so fries stay fresh during delivery and takeout. Same portions, same great fries – just smarter packaging that’s also better for the environment.
