But since there was a bagger I wasn’t going to get in her way in that little space and climb over her to bag stuff over her, I didn’t want to overstep, and that is her job to bag the groceries. The cashier, Carol, was extremely rude to me for not bagging. She says “You are supposed to help bag and if you’re not going to then don’t come back in my line” loudly with such disrespect and nastiness. I understand she is older but that’s no excuse to be nasty to someone. And it is not my job to bag, that’s why there is a bagger. I will not be coming back to that store or any stop and shop because of her I swear.

- AGAlli GaninoSep 12, 20252.0This used to be my go to store, but over the years it has declined to the point where I only go in when I'm already in the area and only need a couple of things. The store used to be cleaner and had a better standard of quality. I never buy seafood or meat here after several bad experiences. The self checkout constantly malfunctions and there isn't enough staff to help on busy days. If the scale is off or the camera thinks you bagged something you didn't pay for, you have to just stand there and wait for the one employee to help. If this store is so worried about theft, get rid of self checkout. Every other grocery store has systems that work so it's baffling to see Stop and Shop struggle so hard to get it right. There are never more than two staffed check out lanes open, even when lines are very long. I don't know what happened to Stop and Shop over the past several years, but shopping there has become an annoyance that I will go out of my to avoid whenever possible.
