Franchise owner needs to visit. Tables are consistently dirty, found a food label in our food, and the employees do not care. There’s trash on the counter near the drinks, and I didn’t see any effort to wipe food off the tables. If this is what is happening in the dining room, what’s happening behind the scenes?
And no, it’s not understaffed. There are 6 people behind the counter and it is not that busy.

I used to love Chipotle, But lately? It’s like every location went on a team-building retreat and forgot to come back.
I went to two Chipotles in one day (don’t judge me), and both ran out of steak and grilled veggies. They made me wait 10 minutes just to tell me it’d be another 20 minutes while half the staff were just casually vibing behind the counter. Is there even a manager left, or are the bowls just running themselves now?
When the steak finally arrived, I thought things were turning around... until I took a bite of corn so cold it could’ve starred in Frozen 3. My teeth are still recovering.
It honestly breaks my heart. I used to be a loyal fan. But between the chaos, the cold corn, and the vanishing steak… I think it’s time we break up, Chipotle. It’s not me. it’s definitely you!

Chipotle
I was able to experience the Branford CT chipotle today, and it was an experience to say the least. Upon entrance of the vestibule I see through the glass a half eaten “burrito bowl” on the floor under a table. I thought to myself wow someone must’ve dropped that and is up getting napkins to clean it up. As I entered the second doorway to the restaurant I quickly realized that was not the case. The entire restaurant was a disaster. The 2 trash bins were overflowing. The floor and tables were littered with bits of rice, food scraps, and chip crumbs. It seemed like no one had cleaned in hours, or maybe days? The place felt dirty. The soda station was soaked. I couldn’t put anything down on the counter or I’d risk it getting wet. All the straws in their wrappers were soaked, and garbage was littered all over the counter. As I was surveying the room, surrounded by the mess, I now began to study the workers. 1 was standing around, literally doing nothing, he probably could’ve picked up a broom or taken out the garbage or wiped down one of the 9 tables covered in left over food scraps. Another was scrolling on his phone, while wearing food service gloves. And I didn’t want to know if he changed them or not before assembling someone’s burrito, I tried to tell myself what I don’t know won’t hurt me. And a few other workers were making themselves busy. Yet not a soul was cleaning. Everyone seemed nice so I felt bad thinking these thoughts. Until I tried my food. I ordered a lifestyle bowl that was a salad and I added“lite” rice and the carne asada steak. And a few other additions. When I got the bowl, there might’ve been 6 pieces of lettuce. There was more lettuce left over on the tables in the restaurant than there was in my salad. It was mostly rice, and a few slices of chewy, fatty meat. After eating what I could of my bowl, I was thankfully not far from a bathroom. It luckily traveled through me pretty quick. 2 other members of my family ordered food as well. Overall this meal was not worth the $50 I spent for 3 people. I was shocked by the state of the inside, and in reading some other reviews it doesn’t seem like ownership really puts pride into the way their store looks. Dirty tables, underwhelming food, overpriced — I won’t be back

Food was good as it is at most Chipotles. The restaurant itself is filthy though.

This location is a victim of its own success, and of being the only location along this part of the Connecticut shoreline. This place is literally always overly busy, to the point that the bathrooms and garbage are overflowing at all times let me run out of utensils and napkins and you have to go to the counter and ask for them. The kids who work here, and yes they are kids so please remember that, are trying their best. But they just simply can't keep up with the volume of this location. You could probably build a second Chipotle right next to this one, and they would both be full at all times. So, be warned especially if you are in a hurry or if you're super picky and are going to complain about the restaurant looking like a hot mess. I don't know if I've ever seen a manager at this location, or anyone who looks like they're over the age of 19, but this place would definitely benefit from more adult leadership especially when it is busy. It seems that they are directionless, despite trying as hard as they can.
