He then delivered the punchline to this evening's comedy: "Ummmmm, so we're out of beef." Out of beef. At 8:30 PM. For a restaurant named "SmashBurger," the irony was so thick, you could smash it. I guess the only thing smashed tonight was our dinner plans. But we had little to lament, with a Red Robin open just up the street, teeming with beef. Yummmmmm. 1 star for no beef, 1 more star for the laugh.

The guy in the back looks at me, doesn't say anything for about a minute or two until finally he asks, " did you need something? Did you place an order?
