I was given a check total and then, after providing my credit card, I was charged more than my check total for the food and drinks. Apparently, there is a required 3% fee for donation. On top of the 3% charge, I was charged $10 more on my credit card than what I wrote on my final, signed check; which, I can only assume, was a mistake by the server. These things happen… c’est la vie.
When deciding to eat at a restaurant, I expect to be charged for the goods & services, and not be required to make a donation.
1. If The Lounge would like to recommend a donation, I would gladly welcome the recommendation as an option (“opt-in,” round up, etc.), not a requirement.
2. If I wanted to donate, I would do so on my own accord, and to a charity of my choosing (which I do, to suicide prevention); with the added benefit of a tax write-off for my own taxes.
3. If The Lounge wants to donate money, they should do so, generously, out of their own pocket/revenue, instead of collecting a “fee” and using its patron’s money to subsidize their own tax write-off.
4. It would be nice to have 100% transparency that the revenue, from the 3% charity “fee,” is being routed, in full, to the proper charity. As noted above, mistakes happen.
I emailed the restaurant about the initial accounting error on my check amounts (not the $10 mistake) and, after a week, I have not heard back from The Lounge.
Good food, terrible business ethics

A few friends and I made a reservation at 6:30pm for the all you can eat crab legs on Wednesday. We waited for over an hour without getting a plate of crab legs, overheard the server tell the table next to us that the crab legs had run out, and we left. Our server Levi comped our drinks and was very nice despite the long wait. I feel sorry for the staff who have to deal with this restaurant’s poor management.

Disappointing food and deceptive charges.
Food:
Our plan was to enjoy a good steak dinner, but that was not what we got. We were quickly told when we tried to order that there was no bread service available, and that they were out of the filet. We ordered a caesar salad, a ribeye and a NY strip, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The ribeye steak was cold and sinewy. When the asparagus didn't arrive and we asked for it, we were told "oh, we're out of asparagus". Oh, well...at that point we decided to chalk it up to a bad meal. Then...
Billing practices:
When the bill came, we were overcharged 80% for adding cheese and bacon to our potatoes, and 20% for the caesar salad. On top of that, the restaurant automatically adds 3% for a charity owned by the owners of the restaurant.
Nice looking place but we had a 18 year old waitress nice kid but never trained it took her 30 minutes just to take our drink order plus the food took over an hour and was cold I don't see this place staying in business very long unless they change management

I left this review and management responded below asking me to email. I did that over a week ago…no response! Disappointing again (though it does fit with our bad dining experience). This was our second negative experience. Last one wasn’t great, this was BAD. A claim of a delay to make tortillas for the happy hour tacos, but it was only an hour into happy hour, tacos were the special and the tortillas were clearly not fresh. It took 15 minutes and 3 attempts to get water for a group of 6! Then the beverages…one martini came out w 0 olives as was described on the menu. Then that was remedied w olives that were not stuffed w bleu cheese (again as described on the menu). Our second round of drinks was a miss as well. 7 drinks for what was now a table of 5. Only 2 of which were actually ordered. The server did return and apologize, saying our order had been mixed with another table’s. However, that table had wine and no one at our table ordered any wine. To finish this experience we figured we should take a look at the itemized receipt. That did not come out with our bill! When we asked for that itemized receipt, we were told that it couldn’t be produced/reprinted. We did accept that just to be done with our experience, but with multiple service industry professionals in our group, we knew that was not true. It must also be said that the restaurant was NOT busy at all. Very disappointing experience. We are long time local residents and hoped to show our friends, returning for a visit, a good experience. It was embarrassing for us and Steamboat Springs. We came away with a story, but not a good experience. None of us will be willing to come back.
