My messy family of five (including kids aged 13, 11, and 6, and all CRANKY) had a lovely meal and especially appreciated both our server and busser, both of whose names I now forget (unfortunately!). The food was excellent; and as an example of the truly stellar service, our server at one point *deftly* averted the 6 year old’s near-meltdown by requesting a drawing of a unicorn so that our server could save it in her special book. The 6 year old quietly and solemnly got to work on that while mom plopped bites into her mount. E3, thank you for your lovely hospitality!

Better than we could have expected. This is a very rate chophouse. The service was all around exceptional. Having tried three of their cuts (ribeye, strip, Filet) the steaks could not have been better seasoned or cook. The staff was super friendly and the only thing that sucks is that they aren’t closer to our home .

The atmosphere is nice and calm. Our steak and lobster was so salty- the bed of garnish under the steak and lobster was basically a pile of stewed tomatoes and a pile of pickled or wine finished shredded veggies.... not greatly paired with a good steak and lobster tail. Our service was slow. Definitely not what we expected for two people and almost $300.

E3 Chophouse charges prices that suggest you’re about to receive a premium steakhouse experience. Unfortunately, the food, honesty, and overall execution fall dramatically short of that expectation. The steak itself was shockingly underwhelming. Our server openly mentioned that some of the beef is sourced from Costco and that the cuts are not actually Prime. For a restaurant charging luxury steakhouse prices, that’s frankly embarrassing. If I wanted a Costco steak, I could buy one myself and cook it at home for a fraction of what E3 charges.. What was even more concerning was the 3% fee added to the bill. Our server told us it was just a credit card processing fee. However, the receipt claims the charge goes toward supporting the U.S. military. According to the server, that explanation is not accurate and it’s simply there to cover credit card transactions. That kind of misleading presentation leaves a really bad impression. At the end of the day, E3 feels like a restaurant built more around hype and image than genuine hospitality or product. Beautiful building, incredibly average food, questionable pricing practices, and a lot of smoke and mirrors. There are far better places to spend your money in Steamboat.

We live in a ski town and things are expensive - that’s fine and expected - what’s not fine is egregious undisclosed nickel and diming on a $500 check for 4 people. Two examples tonight. 1 - we order a bottle of wine and they bring a newer vintage. When asked about the discrepancy. They give a rehearsed speech about how “the tariffs have driven up their prices” - okay then reprint your list with the right bottles instead of a bait and switch. 2 - the final bill doesn’t add up to the total. Turns out they’re charging a 3% credit card fee. No where is this disclosed or mentioned prior to payment. Are you kidding me? I expect this from a gas station bodega, not a high end steak house. Spend your money somewhere else that will treat you with honesty and respect.
