Our New Year’s/anniversary dinner completely ruined what was supposed to be a special night. At no point during the reservation process were we informed that this would be a buffet or that there would be a party charge. Had that been disclosed, we would have never booked. (Booked through Open Table) The food was cold, poorly executed, and absolutely not worth the price. The drinks were subpar at best. We were in and out in under 30 minutes just to go finish watching football elsewhere — not because we were rushing, but because there was no reason to stay. Being charged $2,400 for a buffet meal is beyond ridiculous. There was nothing upscale, celebratory, or memorable about this experience — except the disappointment. Transparency was completely lacking, and the value was nowhere near the cost. What should have been a meaningful anniversary and New Year’s celebration turned into frustration and regret. We will not return and would strongly caution others before booking for a “special occasion.”

I was at the Viceroy Resort in Snowmass during breakfast time, ordering a coffee, and witnessed something that truly shocked me. A manager, speaking with a strong Indian accent, was aggressively shouting at a female employee and speaking to her in a humiliating, demeaning way right in front of guests. The manner in which he addressed her was completely unacceptable—raised voice, harsh tone, and language that clearly crossed the line of basic respect. The employee looked visibly uncomfortable, and the situation felt intimidating and deeply unprofessional. It was painful to watch, and several guests around me seemed equally uncomfortable. What disturbed me most was that this happened publicly, during a busy breakfast service, as if this kind of treatment were normal. No employee should ever be spoken to like that, especially in front of customers. I genuinely felt very bad for the girl and found it hard to continue standing there and listening. This experience seriously affected my impression of the resort. A luxury property should hold its management to much higher standards, especially when it comes to how staff are treated.

Look, I come to Colorado for the slopes, not the food. I’m genuinely Colorado’s #1 hater when it comes to dining, but this restaurant was the first 10/10. No notes. The empanadas, birria bao, octopus, short rib, and truffle fries were all 🔥. Service was also great (I don’t think my water ever dipped below full lol). The ambiance and interior design were equally impressive. A lot of places around here call themselves “luxury” just because of location, but Toro actually delivers on quality and is worth the hype. I rarely write reviews, but this will absolutely be a repeat spot for me :)

Our family of four had a fantastic dinner at Toro Snowmass. The menu offers something for every palate—bold flavors, lighter options, and great choices for picky eaters, too. The food was delicious, the service attentive, and it was such a hit that my daughter asked to return again for her upcoming birthday dinner. We live locally and it's become a firm favorite. Highly recommend for a memorable meal in Snowmass!
