I stick to the self-checkout when I can because when I've gone through the traditional line, they've bagged my raw meat with yogurt, raw meat with baby carrots, and raw meat with cereal. This is a consistent problem. Other than that, the Safeway employees are generally nice and personable and the selection is decent. The produce at this location is way better than what you'll find at Walmart. The Starbucks inside this location is second-to-none. I'll keep shopping here, but will be using the self-checkout whenever possible to ensure that my items are bagged appropriately.
