We are a classic American steak house located in Montrose Colorado, providing upscale dining to casual people. We believe that everyone deserves to have a great dining experience, so please come as you are and enjoy our great selection of steaks, seafood, pasta, salads and desserts. The Stone House opened the doors in December 2008 as a family owned restaurant and has been serving the local and tourist market proudly ever since. The Stone House restaurant today is a beautiful stone and wood building located on Highway 550 across from Walmart, but it started as an old ’50s style diner that looked like a metal trailer. We invite you to join us for lunch, dinner or for our Sunday breakfast buffet. We look forward to meeting you!

Before coming here, we were skeptical. But the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed on Sunday, so we came here. Everything exceeded our expectation, even the sweet potato fries. Food is well seasoned and NOT salty. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare which I specifically asked for. Our table server Bethany was attentive. It was an excellent experience. We did ask if their steak is local. Yep, 100% Colorado beef!

They sat us outside when I think they actually weren’t serving due to cold weather. We had our dogs and they made it happen. Birdie was so happy she put a flower on her nose. Thanks y’all!

The Alfredo was good but she didn’t finish the shrimp because it had no taste. I tasted it as well and it was blah. Her garlic bread was so salty that she couldn’t eat it. I got stroganoff beef. The sauce was delicious but the meat was dry and tough to chew. Disappointing for such an expensive menu. We’ve had much better food at places that cost less than 1/2 the price.
