We are a classic American steak house located in Montrose Colorado, providing upscale dining to casual people. We believe that everyone deserves to have a great dining experience, so please come as you are and enjoy our great selection of steaks, seafood, pasta, salads and desserts. The Stone House opened the doors in December 2008 as a family owned restaurant and has been serving the local and tourist market proudly ever since. The Stone House restaurant today is a beautiful stone and wood building located on Highway 550 across from Walmart, but it started as an old ’50s style diner that looked like a metal trailer. We invite you to join us for lunch, dinner or for our Sunday breakfast buffet. We look forward to meeting you!

We stayed anyway. The brisket was dry and oh so Very tough. Not a lot of flavor. Like “pour some red wine over this thing and stick it in the oven for 3 more hours at 275” tough and tasteless. There were also what looked like some day old pastries and flavorless mayonnaise based pasta salad. Some scrambled eggs and salmon baked with pineapple That were ok. Also some mashed potatoes that were pretty good. There was also a fruit salad. No green salad There were some English muffins with ham and poached eggs. Not a good idea to have them sit in a heater box. The English muffins were so Soggy. The ham was ok. For the money and expectation. Would not return. Lovely setting with a fireplace. That is the best I can say about this place.
