I ordered a rack of prime rib and told the guy it was for Christmas. I wasn't paying a lot of attention but noticed that he got the slab from out-front on the isle where the other is meat. After I got home, I noticed that the sale date was the same date I purchased the meat, December 20, 2025. Generally, meat should be used within 3 days of the sale date. I wondered why the prime rib looked dark brown, instead of pink, like the one on display at the meat counter case. Had I been paying more attention, I would have insisted that he get a fresh slab out of the back. Instead, he's selling me meat that expires the same day I purchased it. Absolutely Discussing! Honestly, you just can't trust anyone anymore. I'm busy preparing a meal for 10 people, and now they will eating some old slab of meat that's expired. I won't go back to Safeway after this!!!
