I’ve hesitated on writing this review because we’ve really enjoyed Pappadeaux for the last twenty years. HOWEVER - I’d say some changes are needed to their kitchen training. Kid you not, over the course of the last year, we’ve had issues at 3 of the past 4 visits. Food coming out blackened when it was ordered “naked”, the kitchen losing our order and adding an hour to our dinner time, and now salmon coming out basically raw when it was specifically ordered well-done. We were there for a family birthday yesterday and it ruined it for me that I had to wait for my salmon to get cooked properly and finally eat when everyone else had their leftovers boxed. I don’t believe I will give them any more chances. Their prices have risen considerably, and it’s not worth the gamble that the kitchen won’t mess up our night again.

I had not been here in months. Drove an hour on 1/25/26 to get to the restaurant. The experience started out promising. Minor issues that were easily let go. Nobody checked in with us after we received our food. My husband’s meal was fine. My grouper with lump crab was not. The seasoning was good, but there was no more than a tablespoon of crab on the grouper and the grouper was dry and tough either from being frozen or from being overcooked or both. The shrimp in it were meh. Upon letting the waitress know, she opted to inform a manager who came over and somewhat condescendingly advised me that I should have said something upon first bite. But to whom? Nobody checked in with us by the time I realized. It wasn’t clear by great bite that such a large portion of it was going to be dry and tough. She did offer to remove it from the bill or to remake it, but I declined since I did try to eat at least half of it, and as a rule, I never have food remade that wasn’t right the first time. I reiterated to her that I was just letting them know it was dry as a courtesy. I was thinking maybe they could inform the kitchen so the next guest doesn’t waste time or money. I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.

Another work trip, another great experience. I have visited Pappadeaux before in other cities and in this trip to Denver, once again, they did not disappoint. I was visiting with a coworker and we started off with their seafood fondue. The absolute best thing in the menu IMHO. 10/10! For dinner I enjoyed a blackened grouper with lump crabmeat meat and shrimp and my coworker had the trout with the same toppings. Both were fresh, complex, and delicious! Again, 10/10. Service was prompt, friendly, and on-point, even with a full dining room. A great experience and highly recommended, but get there early or make reservations, they fill up quick, even on weeknights.

Food was decent, experience was not. Table was not given until 12 minutes after reservation, honestly don't mind this the wait was perfectly fine. Came here for SO's birthday with her family, took several minutes to be greeted after seating , waiter was in training with a seasoned waitress shadowing. Drinks were incorrect, when finally amended replacement drinks were almost a 30 minute wait. Waitress spills water all over one guests leg as she refills water, at least she helped clean it but like 🤷. Appetizers took another 30 minutes, though the fried gator was enjoyable the sampler platter of cold seafood came with 5 shrimp, 3 oysters, and a pinch of crab for 30 dollars, it was described to us as enough for the whole table to experience a bit of everything, 3 oysters, 5 shrimp, 6 people. Food arrived another 30 later. Not many complaints on food. Sea bass was overcooked on the ends but it was an uneven cut so it was expected when it got to the table, still not amazing. Fillet was cooked well, salmon and sea bass were incredibly salty, potatoes were amazing. Overall disappointing for a 300+ meal.

On January 6th, my family and I celebrated my father's 69th birthday at your restaurant. Our reservation was for 6 PM for a party of six. We were initially pleased with the experience; our server was knowledgeable, and the restaurant appeared clean. However, we encountered several concerning issues during our visit. Our table, located in the back right section near a beverage station, provided an unfortunate view of staff activities. We observed a staff member rinsing a large iced tea container in a hand sink, which is designated solely for handwashing, and doing so with bare hands. This process also created considerable noise, as the container was loudly clinked under the faucet, directly adjacent to our table. When my fiancé brought these observations to the attention of the manager, the response was dismissive, stating it was not a significant issue due to the dish area being closed. Furthermore, as we prepared to take family photos, we noticed a large trashcan being used to dump drinks and ice, essentially functioning as a makeshift disposal sink within the dining area. Considering we spent over $600, including the tip, these incidents were highly disconcerting. Such practices raise serious questions about hygiene standards and operational procedures, particularly when conducted openly in the dining room. It leads us to wonder about practices in less visible areas of the establishment. We believe these matters warrant a thorough review and appropriate action from your management. I have attached photos as well.
