About

Seafood Restaurant
We don’t take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it—and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That’s why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

This place was wasn’t a fan of the food. Might be your cup of tea but I didn’t really like it all that much. But my wife said hers was ok if it is a weekend I would say make a reservation

This is a local favorite in NOCO and if you’re looking for good seafood you’ve come to the right spot. Now would I say they are the best seafood in NOCO? No. However, they do have an amazing oyster bar if that’s your thing and do an amazing job with all of that stuff. Where this place tapers off for me is the price and portion sizes. I got the scallops which were very tasty, but around $50 dollars per plate I don’t want to be hungry afterwards. I’ve also been here before and done like a cold seafood platter with lobster etc. Once again, all of it is great, but it is a bit expensive. My recommendation is whatever you order get some bread with it or have this mindset that you’re going to eat lighter. The food here really is tasty I can’t state that enough. Just a bit too expensive and small for my preference. Also, the restaurant is a bit noisy and packed. If I am being honest I think Bistro Nautile is way better, way less packed, and way better value. I just think that most people don’t know about it. I want to rate lower, but I can’t in good faith. It’s just food/cost ratio it’s a bit high and I’d rather be full.

We had a really nice birthday dinner with grilled oysters, mussels, salad, steak, dessert. Not a formal restaurant even though it's upscale food, Colorado casual clothing is totally fine. Reservations recommended. Window booth was a little tight for elbow room, recommend a larger table for more than 2 people.

Food is great! Not gonna lie! I was shocked at the presentation! I had the catfish! It was an elegant bowl! My only gripe is the place is small, VERY LOUD, and although our server was nice, he did a little too much! He talked waaaaayyyyy too much! They need to address that! A server should be there to serve, not strike up conversations with everyone while people are waiting on their food and drinks. There is a fine line between service and wanting to chat it up with people while you’re serving. If you do the latter, it better be a fast conversation. I felt the server was talking too much and not really serving us in the best way he could. Good food though.

If you’re even thinking about seafood in Colorado, stop what you’re doing and go to Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar. From the first bite of the Crab Rangoon Dip to the insanely fresh ahi tuna poke, everything was next-level. Like… “why is this better than most coastal spots?” level. You can tell they don’t mess around with quality. We literally make the drive up from Denver whenever we get the chance—that’s how good it is. And it’s not just the food… the staff is always dope, super on point without being stuffy, and the vibe? Perfect. Warm, lively, and the kind of place you walk into and instantly feel like you made the right decision. This isn’t just a dinner spot—it’s a go-to.
