Around 6-7pm mar22 I was told my orders would be 5 to 10 minutes late. I politely asked for a drink while I waited. The employee, who turned out to be the manager, gave me a look of disgust and rudely responded, "No? Did you buy one?" I responded, " That was rude" and she walked away. I expect an employee representing your company, especially in a managerial position, to respond with something like "it’s against policy." or if she wants to be polite "Im sorry, it's against policy." But to be sarcastic, try to hurt my feelings, and treat me like "crap" was unnecessary. I was very polite and deserve basic professional respect, just like everybody else who comes to your restaurant. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. I looked up to see a cook with glasses legitimately staring me down with a hostile expression. I was forced to ask, "Can I help you?" and she responded loudly by mocking me in front of the restaurant: "Are you gonna buy a soda?" With a smirk on her face. The manager stood by and allowed this. I maintained composure and explained no im not and that being 10 minutes late on these orders costs me money, this is how we pay our bills this is how we feed our children.. and i can't have a soda pop? and you're gonna continue to be rude to me? She scoffed. After 11 minutes late, I contacted DoorDash support and the customer. The same cook then tried to antagonize me, shouting, "You’re waiting on so-and-so, right?" then looked at me like she was kicking me out, even though I was still waiting on my second order. The manager was right there allowing this to continue. I responded that I have another order and wasn't standing there for fun while my income decreased. Then, referenced the young lady with the red shirt who confirmed as if the cook was about to throw me out... After that I confirmed who the manager was; she asked, "Can I help you with something?" I told her she had her chance to help and chose not to, bearing witness to her employee legitimately trying to get a reaction out of me by antagonizing me... Another employee on his way out, possibly the lunch manager, told her something like, "Make sure you do (such and such) about him." I'm not sure what that's about but if she falsifies a report to my delivery company, I’ll be consulting a lawyer. As I left, the cook sarcastically called out, "Have a greeeeat day." The blatant lack of professionalism is astounding. To have her mock me so loudly, multiple times, in front of the entire restaurant, All because I asked for a drink while I waited... Turns out the orders included milkshakes and drinks I was never told about. I should have investigated the items and I accept responsibility, but bags are typically sealed so there's rarely a reason to do so. I honestly feel they were intentionally left to the side in hopes that I wouldn't realize they belonged with the orders... i really hope i'm not right. Because that means they had no problem punishing your customers in the process.. Check the cameras; hopefully they have audio. The young lady in the red shirt that was assisting me, would be the most trustworthy witness to this interaction. Also I informed the customers Of the situation and asked them to call the location to verify that the drinks and milkshakes never left the building. If an employee lied about this to the customers and it can be verified, again I'll be contacting a lawyer as well as anticipating a termination. Affecting our ratings with the delivery service affects our income. The repercussions are documented, undeniable and provable if necessary. I look forward to hearing how five guys as a company handles a situation like this.
