DELIVERY DRIVERS BEWARE: They supposedly can’t reprint their barcodes. Someone on their staff lost two of my tags and I then couldn’t deliver my order, losing over an hour of delivery time and dinging my cancellation rate even though I did nothing wrong. Make sure you verify that you have the right number of barcodes before loading your car. To this location: printing and attaching barcodes is very simple and VERY important to delivery drivers who are trying to feed their families while navigating this horrible economy. Be considerate. Get it together.

I usually have a good experience here. The produce here is always very fresh. I am wondering how late the cheap chicken Monday deals go. Because I came in around 6:00 pm a couple weeks ago to pick up some chicken for dinner and they were all out except for a few random pieces, and they said they couldn't make more because the fryer was off. I ended up buying whatever random scraps were left plus a couple chicken tenders. It was kinda disappointing. Other that that it's a decent store.

On October 20th, I went to the Safeway on Harmony to purchase gas for two vehicles. The first transaction went through fine at the pump, but when I tried to fill up my truck (with a large boat attached, making it difficult to move), the pump’s scan-and-pay feature wasn’t working. The cashier on duty was on break, and after about 10 minutes, Sam returned and pre-authorized a $50 charge so I could pump gas. My truck only took a little over $20 worth of fuel, but instead of the unused balance being released, the full $50 was charged to my account. On August 27th, I noticed the incorrect charge and went back to Safeway to resolve the issue. The gas attendant sent me inside, but by the time I got there, the Accounting office had already closed. The next day (August 28th), I called and spoke with the accountant, explained the situation, and was told she couldn’t mail me cash, credit my card, or send a money order. She asked me to come back in person, but I declined and asked her to escalate it to the store manager. She promised to call me back that day but never did. Over the next several days (August 30th, September 1st, and September 2nd), I repeatedly called, left messages, and kept getting told the accountant was unavailable. When I finally reached Alyssa in Accounting, she repeated that they couldn’t send me money and insisted I come in. Again, I asked her to speak with the manager. Eventually, the store manager, Gary, got on the call. I explained the situation again, and he also asked me to come in. When I told him I had already been to the store once and made multiple unreturned calls, I requested that a money order be mailed to me instead. He seemed dismissive, even asking if I could just “come down in the next couple weeks” since it was only about $30. I made it clear that the inconvenience was the issue—not the amount. After some back and forth, he finally took my address and said he’d have it delivered. Later, Gary himself showed up at my house with a check. Instead of offering an apology or even basic courtesy—like a handshake or acknowledgment of the trouble—I was met with silence. His demeanor reinforced what I’d already felt: that Safeway valued its own convenience over properly addressing a customer’s frustration and inconvenience. The entire situation could have been resolved quickly and professionally with a simple refund or mailed money order. Instead, it highlighted poor communication, lack of accountability, and dismissive management. What should have been a small issue turned into a frustrating ordeal.
