Management is out of touch and concerned only with the bottom line. Shopped her over 40 years, but never again. Draconian bs policies and harassment about personal shopping habits is the antithesis of service. They just want your money and force employees to hassle you about it.

Unfortunately, the review about the tall African American man is correct. I remember one time I was checking out with him and without saying anything flung my receipt at me—I literally never experienced anything like that in my whole life. I remember it was on my bday and I wanted to “let it go”..but I really suggest you hire more friendly people in the future.

The loss prevention people at this Safeway beat me up and broke my nose and wrist . I almost got kicked out of school and had to visit the hospital due to the injuries. The way I was treated is so inhumane and dishonest. It’s crazy how people can just grab you up and beat you up in a room with no cameras and not get in trouble for it. I also was harassed and bullied. I was called multiple very bad names and much more. The loss prevention needs to be better trained and better mannered. I didn’t show any sign of a threat and the cameras around the whole store will prove that correct. I grew up in this neighborhood and have came to this store for 10+ years. I will no longer shop with Safeway and I hope this doesn’t happen to any one else !

Half of the staff are fantastic and super helpful, but the other half are rude, always mad, and make it very clear that they don’t want to be there. Sadly, I only go there if I’m desperate as I don’t want to ruin my day by being treated horribly by the bottom half. I was supposed to get a $75.00 or $85.00 credit for transferring my prescription there, and after numerous calls to customer service and promises that they would take care of it, I still never got the credit on my Safeway card. Lastly, I would spend so much time on their app clipping digital deals, and never got the deals because the app says it supports 2 phone numbers, but they said it didn’t. Just love wasting my incredibly precious time that I will never get back.

I've had a bit of a souring opinion of this store over time (poor produce, low stock, invalid deals), but I'm leaving this review because I can already see that the toiletries and medicines section are turning into the terrible secure sections I've seen in other stores, where you are forced to check out on the spot, while under constant surveillance. Literally as I type this, I saw someone setting up the area nearly run over a customer with a cart of moved items. If that's not a metaphor for this process, I don't know what is. This increased focus on shoplifting and placing blame on the people you ASSUME are doing it doesn't reduce the prevelance of stealing, it just hurts the people in the store, whether they're accused or not. Looking on the reviews here, I saw a good deal of customers reporting being followed by secret shoppers, being watched for shop lifting. It's not a good look, and I'll likely end up considering other stores if this change goes through and the behavior continues.
