I agree with the other reviews about feeling like I’m being watched. Olga at self checkout is so aggressively in my space EVERYTIME I check out that it makes me cringe at the thought of using self checkout when I see her. If you don’t like the feeling of someone standing behind you your whole purchase then don’t do self when she is working. Other than that the store itself is fine. You would think coming in multiple times a week would make them less aggressive towards you but no.

Idk if it’s because of the shutdown and people not getting snap benefits that have them acting like every person that walks in is stealing or what but shopping in there tonight felt so aggressive. I am covered in tattoos not because I did time like judgmental people like to assume but because I love art and I love the look of tattoos but sadly still in today’s world if you don’t fit a certain “look” you’re automatically profiled. Tonight I went in to grab a few random things after being on the go since this morning and aside from myself there was a few other shoppers and the workers were just constantly staring at you not in a friendly can I help you way but an accusatory judging way. When I first got there the check out lady called over a lady who just checked herself out with only two items and the lady was accusing her of not scanning something and the girl told her she would gladly show her receipt because she did in fact scan both items. Then as I’m shopping around they make a loud announcement and say as follows.. “security do a scan AND scan all isles…” that happens normally at kings but it’s automated this was one of the ladies passive aggressively already accusing myself or whoever of stealing. I work hard as a single mom and sometimes like tonight I have to pick and choose what’s more important to buy and my son wanted some hot wheels but I had to tell him no because we needed the other stuff more and I ended up checking out about ten items. As I’m scanning, I am setting all scanned items at the back of the cart so I knew what was scanned and what was not and my daughter and I were conversing about how loud the voice was on the machine and the self checkout lady chimed in and came over telling us that it gets even louder and proceeds to show us which we thought was funny because it was LOUD! And I then told her about a experience I had years ago with a loud machine. At that moment my daughter text that she was outside my house with my son so after me and the lady finished talking I text my daughter real quick to let her know I was about to pay and leave and would be right there and then I was going to finish scanning my last couple of items. As I’m texting my daughter the worker says “you need to scan this” and then reached into my cart and grabbed the other item and said “and you need to scan this” which she said it in a way like I was not going to scan them and I had just been busted! And it was very annoying and it may seem small but to make it appear as if someone is going to steal without allowing them through the process of checking out and trying to pay first. AND THEN pointing out what they didn’t scan if that was the case. Not chatting it up with them distracting them from an already long day and from their scanning and then acting like no conversation was had and they are intentionally not scanning items. Not to mention it’s embarrassing in front of other customers. Sure be on top of it when it comes to theft but not to the point you’re looking at every customer as a thief and making them feel that way. Nobody wants to shop somewhere where the employees are staring you down like every pocket is full of merchandise. I will be shopping at kings where yes they have great security and measures in place for theft but aren’t treating everyone like a criminal.
